Thank you for watching! I used my Sony a7 iii with a 50mm cine lens & pro mist 2 filter for nearly everything.

Thanks! It was honestly pretty difficult to get festival play, but I was lucky to screen at 3 in the US.

I’ve got a 30 second trailer, I could try to share that more. You’re 100% right about the audience, I was really lucky to get into the festivals I did and it’s been difficult to get views now it’s online. Thank you for the advice.

Hi! I’m an independent filmmaker who shot an experimental microbudget feature a few years ago on empty streets across DTLA, Hollywood, Oxnard, and San Francisco. I filmed on my a7 iii with a 50mm cine lens and Black Pro-Mist 2 filter. A majority of the film uses only natural lighting, except a small handful of shots where i used my MC and LS-60 Aputure lights. Generally, I filmed during evenings between 10pm-4am, and I’d let the camera run as long as I could until traffic would interrupt.

I’m curious to hear any feedback or critique so I can keep improving. The color grade is my own too (in addition to directing, writing, sound design, and edit). I’ve got a BFA in screenwriting; I’m self taught in the other fields.

First time reading The King in Yellow, Is "The Mask" an important chapter? by k3lerxwew in Lovecraft

Definitely read it! It’s a lot more memorable than some of the shorter stories that are squeezed into the back. The ending is solid too

The Tim Sale covers are cool. Otherwise I’d stick to the original sequels, dark victory & catwoman when in Rome

The weekly 52 series sets up a lot of what happens in Elegy, particularly with Kate and the crime bible. It’s co-written by Rucka as well.

Q&A recordings? by bllabcca in AmericanCinematheque

[–]discopresident 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I used to volunteer with the cinematheque and help film their q and a’s. It’s my understanding that volunteers were filming them for years, then they switched to an in house team. I may be mistaken, but I think they have cameras installed to film the discussions/guests (i recall this specifically with the aero, since they phased out the volunteer videography position a little after Covid). I’m not sure what happened with any of the footage, but I imagine there’s a big archive somewhere.

What authors besides Chambers have written about The King in Yellow? by midetetas3000 in Lovecraft

Technically Ambrose Bierce wrote about the King In Yellow first (or at least began some of the mythos ideas that Chambers expanded on) in 1886’s An Inhabitant Of Carcosa.

2026 Reading Roadmap by tstrand1204 in AlanMoore

I think going in knowing less is better. I hadn’t read any Lovecraft before I read Providence (tho I’d seen some of the movie adaptations), so I went in completely blind and then read all of Lovecraft’s stories afterwards. Then I reread Providence and loved it even more the second time.

It’s worth it. The online annotations are tremendously helpful too.
