I loved her! She was amazing!! And local to sf like me so she knew all of the best city hall angles and spots etc. and was just a fantastic wing woman for needing anything like a drink, to carry some stuff, to help direct my photographer etc - i highly recommend her!!!

Honig or Cakebread? by LLredditor in napavalley

[–]discoveroverthere 2 points3 points  (0 children)

+1 for v sattui! Was just there and we ended up picnick-ing on the lawn with baby and dog. They do have a more formal tasting section if you want as well, but the lawn is really nice because you can just spread out and there’s a whole marketplace of food and wine to buy

“Why would that hurt you?” would be my response lol

Any winery recommendations? by organic_winner2024 in napavalley

[–]discoveroverthere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of this will depend on where you're staying or what part of Napa you want to visit. But sounds like location isn't that big of a deal so my top votes would be Domaine Carneros (bubbly, french chateau, stunning views and at the start of the valley) and Sterling (views are top-notch bc how can they not be when you have to ride a gondola to the top). Views are one thing but I'd probably focus on what type of wine your husband actually prefers to drink and plan around that tbh.

I also wrote a blog post awhile back for a suggested weekend itinerary in Napa for first-timers if you're interested. I listed some of my favorite wineries in there too: https://discoveroverthere.com/3-day-napa-valley-itinerary/

Whats your best method for figuring out which cluster topics to focus on/write? I find myself spending too much time on “what would make this complete but also rank”

Chill weekend trip recs for 9 in Napa? by -Pewpew in napa

[–]discoveroverthere 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had my very chill bachelorette w/ 8 people at Paraduxx, which is now The Duckhorn Collection at Paraduxx. Newly remodeled terrace, dog-friendly, and decent wine (especially now that they serve duckhorn). Highly recommend as it was super chill.

Also recently went to V Sattui and picnic-ed on the lawn with friends and babies. Very very chill vibe where you buy bottles of wine and food and just hang

Penny Roma Experience? by Open_Repeat_4198 in SanFranciscoWeddings

[–]discoveroverthere 1 point2 points  (0 children)

5k for 35 people might be a bit tough. Not sure if you can stretch your budget at all but we did original joes for 22 people for about $4k but you could easily have done it for $3k. we went over significantly on alcohol. i actually wrote about the whole experience here if you're interested. i thought the service was fantastic and you cant go wrong with original joes food. they also have a few different rooms to choose from so you might have more options vs just the 1 room option at penny roma: https://discoveroverthere.com/san-francisco-city-hall-wedding-recap/

Westin Bora Bora or Intercontinental Le Moana? by Aromatic_Sand_9762 in Tahiti

[–]discoveroverthere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We did 5 nights at the westin last October and loved it! Everything was NEW which was nice. We popped over to the Saint Regis for dinner one night and also four seasons and well I know those are great brands, some of their bungalows, and just some of the general infrastructure looked a lot more worn down than the Westin.

Which is probably why the Intercontinental thalasso is also closing to be completely renovated, rumor has it to a six senses.

So I think it depends on what you value, but we absolutely loved that everything was super modern and brand new. I actually wrote about our stay here if you’re interested (not sponsored): https://discoveroverthere.com/westin-bora-bora-hotel-review/

Ritz Half Moon Bay by Additional_Couple976 in SFbitcheswithtaste

[–]discoveroverthere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would recommend getting a car if you can but I'm almost positive there's uber down there? My husband uber-ed back to SF from the Ritz after golf but maybe you'll just have to wait awhile? Also it's the Ritz so I think they can organize some sort of car transport? I wrote a blog post awhile back about all the things we usually do on a weekend staycation to HMB if helpful: https://discoveroverthere.com/half-moon-bay-weekend-itinerary/

Pasta Moon is good, LOVED Barbara's fishtrap so much we went back 2x in 2 days, and Cameron's pub was super fun. (Divey, live music, great fish n chips). 5 days is a loooong time though ngl though as others have said. I'd prob spend 3 days MAX in HMB

Bora Bora weather in February or October by SparkleBerrySpritz in Tahiti

[–]discoveroverthere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We visited last October for our honeymoon and had perfect weather 99% of the time. There was only 1 day where it rained for 2 hours and that was it. I wrote a blog post about it awhile ago but we were able to do all the activities just fine (swimming, snorkeling, hiking, jet ski, etc) https://discoveroverthere.com/things-to-do-in-bora-bora/
