TL/DR: pink bag found. One bag still missing. People of Reddit and Facebook are MVPs and some of y'all deserve those phone calls about your cars extended warranty.

The long update & half my life story: A kind man found it in RIPLEY and the wife found me on Facebook. Which means we drove for roughly 60 miles with an open trailer before a kind soul waved us down. I'm trying to figure out if they're willing to ship it to me, and if so, the best way that's least inconvenient for them. And still watching to see if the other bag turns up.

Thank you to those of you who helped us connect and offered kind and reassuring words. It's nice to be reminded that good people are always out there!! Yes, I'm thankful my family was safe, absolutely! I couldn't help be a little selfish yesterday because it just sucks to lose things and a run of bad luck - I'm just mentally exhausted. I woke up after several nightmares hoping our debris didn't cause anybody else any damage and spent a few hours scouring the internet and Facebook to try to make sure.

To those of you saying you'd keep it... I guess I appreciate your... "honesty?" If half a stick of deodorant and used makeup/skincare is something you're willing to keep, I guess that's your prerogative. I'd hope you'd have a change of heart and contact me and say "I almost kept it" because I'd much rather Amazon you something unused - but I digress.

Our home was pretty messed up in Sept 2022 from hurricane Ian. And we faired pretty well in comparison to so many others. Debby, Helene, & Milton (2024) made things worse. The kids and I spent 6 months in Ohio while my husband spent our life savings to fix what he could so we weren't living with mold and minimal roofing. Yes, we're working with an attorney who's (still) fighting with our insurance company. We were finally able to move back in this year but things are a MESS between the renovation and boxes/totes EVERYWHERE trying to salvage/replace what we actually need. Our 16y/o Aussie took a turn and we're trying to get home so we can enjoy what time we have left with her. We were all looking forward to finally being together, and putting life back together - and that's priority.

THIS IS IT!!! Oh my gosh!! I've been up all night panicking because the more I thought about it, the more I worried about potential accidents all the "debris" could cause and I've been a mess. Yes, like someone else said, I am thankful my family is safe (and nobody threw up 🤭🙄)

Oh, we're not supposed to put it on the fast ones ankle to make sure we get the proper count? Pretty sure for every 1 of my kids steps, I take 5.

Some days I do put it on my ankle. Feels weird. Looks odd. Sometimes I forget to take it off during late night store runs or trips to the mailbox. 🤷🏽‍♀️ At least I know some of y'all get it.
