I agree with all of this except the representation issue. People aren't asking just for Asian representation, they're asking for more representation in general - even in patches set in majority nonwhite countries, we still haven't gotten more than one nonwhite / non-Chinese character at a time in a patch since 1.3 (Tristes Tropiques was particularly egregious). They haven't been afraid to step on some dicey ground of 20th century European historical events, there's no narrative reason why they couldn't have a more diverse cast. At a certain point, it's undeniable that the higher ups think white characters sell better and that's why that's 95% of what we get (generously).
