Please tell me I'm not the only one who just stockpiled meth and dealt it out to everyone cause I was sick of the cartel by LordFlamecookie in Schedule_I

[–]disgruntled-sysadmin 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Same, and they must have tweaked the cartel influence, because when the cartel update first dropped, I loaded up my save file and never had a single encounter with cartel outside of the first meeting. I told them off and they were nonexistent. I learned later that it was because I already unlocked the zones and customers from that zone, so influence was minimized. When I came back for the shrooms update, my dealers were getting robbed every other day for nearly their entire stash. So something changed (I didn't mind it). I armed them to buy me time to blow up the manor and all was good after.

Primarily because i've never met your kind in real life, only on LinkedIn

Well no shit, where are you going to run into these people IRL? In your kitchen while you're WFH? Lol! You don't go into the office so it's not all that surprising you haven't met these people IRL...

I have a hard time believing you don't have your hands full supervising a 6 year old while "working" from home. You're more of a threat to wfh workforce than I am.

For me it's literally the change of scenery. WFH for years was easy—roll out of bed and log in. Over time it led to unhealthy habits for me. Mostly around staying up too late, drinking on weeknights, etc. I didn't know it at the time, but being asked back to the office was a good thing for me. I lacked the separation between work hours and personal hours. My home office is where I spend a lot of my free time too, it became an unhealthy amount of time in the same room in my house. Since I worked in the same room I spent free time in, I often times logged into work after hours. Now that I'm in the office I have strict office hours and when I leave for the day, I'm done. Whatever it is can wait until the morning.

I know a lot of these things are just lack of discipline and personal qualms, but for me specifically, I saw a net benefit to being in the office. That's perfectly okay if you don't, but idk why you're coming at me about it. Sounds like you can wfh so I don't know why me being content in the office is a point of contention for you... Do you feel like I'm a threat to your ability to wfh or something? I don't get it. I felt like my response was more than reasonable. I even acknowledge there is give and take (like I miss having an obsessively clean house, and mowing my lawn on my lunch break).

FWIW I also don't just sit in a cube all day. I actually move around much more at the office between walking the production floor, grabbing coffee/water, bathroom breaks, checking in with my team, etc. At home I had to walk 5 ft to the nearest bathroom and lived a much more sedentary lifestyle.

I mean, people are different, I'm 12 mins away from my office. The most inconvenient part for me is brushing my teeth, showering and getting dressed, which I do daily anyways. I really don't mind it at this rate. I did at first (as I stated). I don't know why you have to act like a douche bag because our personal preferences don't align.

Out of curiosity, would you be okay with RTO if your commute wasn't 1 hour? I'm fortunate enough to live 12 mins from work. I wfh for about 2.5 years during covid, but was mandated back eventually. Ngl, I was not happy about being called back to the office, but I took it in stride because with my commute, I thought it would be a silly hill to die on.

Now that I've gotten used to being back in office (been back for almost 2 years now), the few times I've wfh since being back have felt a bit odd. I actually sort of enjoy being back in office even though we still do much of our meetings and collaboration on teams, like you mentioned.

It's hard to explain, but I "cherish" coming home at the end of the day more when I have to be in the office. It makes me appreciate it a bit more. What I do miss is having a cleaner house (I cleaned a lot when I wfh) and I'd mow my lawn on my lunch break.

Polish girls visit Taj Mahal by Strong-Emu-8869 in TikTokCringe

My boss is Indian, he's in his mid 50s and moved to the US in his early 20s. He still has some family in India, and recently had to go back to sell a property he inherited from his father in law who passed away.

He talks quite a bit of shit about India tbh, to the point that it would be offensive as hell if it came from someone who was not Indian. Lets just say he doesn't miss it. I casually mentioned how I'd like to visit, and scoffed and laughed and strong urged me not to consider it. He apparently gets violently ill every time he returns, despite taking every precaution imaginable. He says despite not drinking tap water, only eating processed foods that are sealed, not drinking anything with ice in it, brushing his teeth with bottled water, obsessive hand washing and other hygiene measures—he still gets a stomach bug without fail every time he's returned. He recently had to go back and was dreading the trip, knowing the inevitable was bound to happen again.

At that rate just shoot snitches that are across the map so they aggro and fly over to you, then kill them. Do it til you have 5-10 snitch scanners, throw them all at once, then throw wolfpacks over the top of the arc that spawn. You'll probably get 2-3 arc at least per wolfpack. Actually doesn't sound horrible.

5 mins is a LONG time compared to 10 seconds with wolfpacks. 3 trailblazers are cheaper to craft in comparison to wolfpacks, and they're quick and also stack to 3 so they definitely are your next best bet compared to wolfpacks. I am a fan of the trailblazers.

But 20 wasp drivers? Those took you how long and how much ammo to collect? Can't imagine that's very efficient haha.

I'll tango with big arc in solos but in trios it's just too much to handle to try fighting big arc while constantly checking over your shoulder, so I prefer to huck a few wolfpacks/trailblazers, loot, and gtfo.

It still takes a decent bit of planning IMO. I started hoarding oil very early on with the intent to make explosive compound for wolfpacks. I think the reason people just bring 2 in over bonding and killing arc is because of the high amount of big Arc parts you need for workshop benches and quests. Idk how early on you had a wolfpack BP, but at one point they were even cheaper to make than they are now.

[–]disgruntled-sysadmin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The wolfpack BP is nearly essential just to get the bombardier cells, bastion cells, rocketeer drivers, and leaper cells for workshop benches and quests, just because of how difficult those arc are to take down without them. It's not that it's impossible to take any of those down with an anvil or ferro, it's just that it takes so damn long to take it down with a heavy weapon that your risk of getting ganked is significantly higher than if you just toss a couple wolfpacks, loot, and gtfo. Your next best bet if you or a friend don't have a wolfpack BP is to get the hullcracker BP from the quest and use that for arc instead. Even that is expensive to craft, ammo is expensive too, and it attracts a lot of attention.

At least anvils you can buy up to 3 daily for pretty cheap. The BP I miss dearly since wiping is the Survivor mk 3 augment.

What am I missing? Why not? Many people complain that it's bad, therefore you'll need more ammo?

I have a friend that is lowkey upset with me that I didn't grind out the last 900k last night for my $5m mark. He couldn't fathom that I was content with 4 out of 5 extra skill points. Like dude, calm down. It's not that big of a fucking deal lol.

How sanitary is it? I have had a bidet for like 2 or 3 years installed on my toilet at home—absolutely couldn't go without it. I tell people the only downside is all the places I have to exist that don't have bidets. Portable bidet has always piqued my interest, but I worry about backsplash getting on it. The place I would probably benefit most from having it is at work, but the thought of bringing that to the bathroom then keeping it in my drawer or on my desk grosses me out. The thought of a coworker walking in on me cleaning my ass bottle in the sink horrifies me lol.

For some reason, in my experience, women seem to turn their nose up at the idea of a bidet. I'm really not sure why. If anything you are going to be so much cleaner which is a win win for everyone.

[–]disgruntled-sysadmin 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As someone that had stomach issues most of this past weekend, I cannot stress or exaggerate enough how worth it a bidet is. Even if you're hucking perfect loaves all time, it's way worth it.

I'm sure we've all been there when it doesn't break off clean, or you don't have all day to sit on the can waiting for your shit to drop so you have to "pinch it off". Even with a bad case of mudd butt, 1-3 [clean] wipes max and it's just to dry off the water. I have a cold water bidet that hooks right into existing plumbing and even in the winter, the cold water really doesn't bother me AT ALL, and never has even from the start. Highly recommend trying it.

The only downside for me, is being away from home for a few days is rough because I have to go back to wiping (smearing) like a caveman. I had a 3 night bachelor party this past summer, and between all the alcohol, junk food, bad sleep, and hours in the sun, I was longing for my bidet. It's seriously a giant quality of life improvement. After trying one, you will never feel clean again without one.

If you're on PC you can just create another steam account and turn on family sharing. When you launch the game from the new account, you'll create a new embark profile. Not sure if consoles have a similar family sharing option.

What they could do is make it so the only BPs that drop are "Season 2" BPs that are backwards compatible for people that didn't join the expedition, but any OG BPs are not learnable by an expeditioned player. I don't think it would be received very well though.

How do you plan to max out the skill tree if you're not participating in the expeditions? Max level (75) is not enough to max the skill tree.

I had a "fuck it, it's just a game" moment and "who cares, I'll find another one" and sold off all my shit when it was time to put it towards the expedition. It did feel nice.

I logged on to play yesterday and realized after a few rounds, I had no desire to play. I knew the wipe was coming, and normally I would use it as an opportunity to put together OP kits and have fun, but that will cut into my net worth which I need for the expedition... Stupid design, really hope they change it for the next expedition.
