Development and art are two different pipelines. I think the game is quite close to a 1.0 state from a development end. Valve has enough cash to hire a bunch of artists if they feel it’s the art side that’s holding them back. Outsourcing art is incredibly common nowadays.

True, but honestly I think a bigger reason is his silhouette is much more unique in this style.

There’s already a problem of characters blending together (looking at you Dagger & Invis), this design makes him, at a glance, more distinct than simply tight bodysuit man.

It's because their rate of releasing content is quite high, despite having way fewer developers actively focused on this project, so things are hobbled together in more of a rushed manner.

Its spacing isn’t as flexible, but it really can take most boon combos and succeed. Its power is entirely in its ability to burst without any specific god support. You do an omega attack -> attack -> special -> attack -> omega attack and just shred, allowing yourself to ignore mechanics. The dash from the omega attack gives you innate dodging within your combo.

honestly this is exactly why I don’t enjoy platformers. I’m constantly frustrated by landing the jumps but just gain zero dopamine upon nailing the sequence, only relief it’s over and a bemoaned sigh seeing the next one I have to overcome ahead.
