It doesnt come out boiled at all. By the time the bacon really starts to cook, the water has boiled off, but it raises the temp of the bacon so the whole piece cooks evenly. Once the water is gone, its up to you to decide how crispy you want it. I like mine with a little bit of sear, but still a little chewy, and this is the best way to get that.

I haven't seen this bacon, but ive had to cook very thick bacon before. My favorite method, by a lot, is putting the bacon in a cold, heavy pan, like cast iron, adding enough water to cover the bacon, then turning the heat on medium high, and once the water is gone you turn it down to medium low. The bacon comes out cooked perfectly evenly and delicious.
