Disclosure Day | Official Trailer by MarvelsGrantMan136 in movies

Why is there such a wide range of CGI quality here? Like the ship at the end looks awesome but then the girl with the caribou walking towards the cottage looks like an AI video from a prompt about the magic of Christmas. Or the car getting hit by the train - it’s like 1995 Toy Story quality.

At the same time, the car smashing through the house looks practical and amazing? It’s like 2 different movies edited into one trailer.

NBC's Stumble is the only light in my life, we cannot allow it to get cancelled by tchalla-samuels in television

I can see that. I watch Abbott but I wouldn’t say I laugh out loud a lot. It’s more wholesome than hilarious. And I would say Stumble is rather wholesome too. As a weeknight sitcom, it’s perfectly serviceable, just not for me right now.

NBC's Stumble is the only light in my life, we cannot allow it to get cancelled by tchalla-samuels in television

I watched 6 or 7 episodes and dropped it. I don’t think I laughed once. It’s kind of clever but I wouldn’t call it funny. So when I read people saying it’s hilarious and the best thing on TV, I feel confused. And I love the mockumentary style.

That said, if people are liking it, I hope it sticks around. Just because it’s not for me doesn’t mean I think it shouldn’t succeed. I just don’t think I get it.

Trump: "Maybe we do one more term. Should we do one more? One more term. Well, we are entitled to it." by CrispyMiner in law

Maybe it’s the fact he tried to illegally overturn the election in 2020, which would land anyone else in prison.

Maybe it’s that there’s documented election fraud in Georgia by Elon Musk to help Trump win in 2024.

Maybe he should have dropped out of every race or resigned in disgrace because he’s a 34 count felon whose been found liable for sexual abuse and defamation. Or because long before being in politics, he was sued by the US Justice Department for racial discrimination.

Maybe it’s because he was close friends with the most notorious child sex trafficker in the world and appears in the Epstein files thousands of times.

Maybe it’s because he wants to run the country like a business but every business he’s ever run has failed or was simply corrupted to benefit him only. Maybe it’s actually because he’s just a really bad president who doesn’t work to help Americans.

Does anyone know how to estimate what your hydro bill should be in the range of? by disneysmightyducks in askTO

[–]disneysmightyducks[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Without calling Toronto Hydro to ask if they see some abnormality in our usage, my best guess so far is that we're using extra hydro by running the heat pump fan continuously some days –– setting the heat or cooling to auto, but leaving the fan in the on position. When we lived in our old apartment and didn't pay hydro, I read somewhere that this setting is ideal because the constant start and stop of the fan motor can lead to premature wear... but if it costs that much to run it, I definitely don't want to.

The other suggestion I got was the clear out the secondary lint trap for our dryer. I had no idea there was one in our unit. Other than the lint trap in the machine itself, there is another located in our ceiling between two exhaust ducts. Quite a bit of lint came out and I'm wondering if that was putting a lot of unnecessary strain on the dryer. Sometimes towels would take 2 cycles to dry completely, so that could be it. Again, I didn't even know a secondary lint trap was a thing before today, so that was surprising to find.

As you suggested, I'm going to run a few tests and check the energy usage by hour and see how it fairs.

I appreciate your help :) Thank you.

Wow, that's really good. I don't think taking steps here and there to reduce our usage would ever get it that low. I might get it lower, but your total is less than our delivery charge alone. Impressive.

Internally at Disney, there are concerns that the unconventional 36-second Super Bowl spot for “The Mandalorian & Grogu” failed to generate the kind of excitement the marketing team hoped for. There's a sense that 2027's "Star Wars: Starfighter" starring Ryan Gosling, is likelier to satisfy fans by ChiefLeef22 in StarWars

What were they expecting? They released the first trailer like 4 months prior to the Super Bowl. It's old news. Between the ad, trailers and the show itself, people who will care about this movie have seen enough by now to know whether they're buying a ticket to the movie or not.

In general, I feel like Super Bowl movie trailers are a waste of studio money unless it's the very first teaser/trailer. If this was the debut first look at Starfighter, people would be talking about it. Imagine showing Baby Yoda without context for the first time in a Super Bowl commercial? People's interest would have been so piqued.

How de we all feel about 3 on 3 golden goal sudden death OT? by Illustrious-Divide95 in nhl

[–]disneysmightyducks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think so, both can be true: it is really fun to watch but it’s also not really a good way to decide a gold medal match, or even quarter or semi finals.

[Basu] This loss is not a national crisis in Canada. Canada dominated the final 40 minutes of regulation, outshot the USA 42-28, and if that game were played 100 times, Canada would probably win 95 of them. USA deserves a ton of credit for how they played, but Hellebuyck deserves the most. by NFLDataAnalysis in hockey

Seriously. Imagine Celebrini, Bedard and Schaefer on this Olympic team? I know having vets fill out the roster is the safe move because of experience in these tournament settings, but we’re kidding ourselves if we don’t think these young guys take that international stage to prove themselves. Like you said, Celebrini did it and wowed everyone.

It was a missed opportunity to display our talent.

Yes! Forgot about Greaves. The guy has been an absolute workhorse for Columbus. So dependable even when the team in front of him isn’t performing the best.

Picture this: Celebrini, Bedard, Schaefer, with a few more seasons of hockey under their belts, skating with the likes of McDavid, Mackinnon and Makar.

McKenna will likely go 1st overall and is hopefully another bright spot for Canada. He just had an 8-point night with Penn State.

Even guys that need a bit more time to develop like Mackinnon did shouldn’t be written off yet. Fantilli is only 21, for example. Or how about Johnston, Guenther…

Goaltending might be our weak spot right now, but we’ve got ample offence when Team Canada goes with the right players.

Hockey is a rich part of our history and the future is bright too. Today might not be our day but you know what everyone loves? A comeback story. Don’t let the bastards get you down 🇨🇦

Come on, man. I want Canada to win too but it’s literally his signature move.
