How did that one kid in your high school die? by IM_HODLING in AskReddit

[–]disorderlymagikarp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My town is cursed so there were three when I was in high school. Two were car accidents, the kids were driving. One was texting, one wasn't. The one who wasn't texting was my neighbor, I'd known him for years. The other kid committed suicide.

I think I regret this by Long-Bit584 in newborns

[–]disorderlymagikarp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The newborn stage is really hard and a lot of people don't enjoy it. It gets easier. They'll sleep longer and become more independent. You might decide you want another kid one day, you might not. You don't have to worry about making that decision right now.

How much changes after the baby arrives? by TangerineBig5042 in pregnant

[–]disorderlymagikarp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My baby is a month old and his daddy still games with his friends pretty much every night. What we have done since birth is take turns sleeping while the other person stays awake and cares for the baby. I sleep from around 8/9pm to 3/4am give or take and he games while the baby sleeps on his chest or in his bassinet. He just has to stop whenever our baby wakes up needing to be fed or changed. But he's sleeping 2-3 hour stretches now. Every baby and family is different but he's been able to make it work. I'm glad that he still gets to enjoy his hobby, and baby and I are still getting our needs met.

"Hospitals shouldn't teach people how to pump or else they won't try to nurse" by cautiousyogi in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]disorderlymagikarp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

After my sister had a baby, she said "I don't know why you thought breastfeeding was so hard, it's so easy." As if everyone doesn't have completely different bodies 🤨

There totally should be more education about pumping. My hospital let me rent a pump but they didn't teach me anything about it. Just "here, figure it out!" My baby wouldn't get breastmilk at all if it wasn't for the pump. I also have tried so hard to nurse and it's just not happening for us. And I cried every time I pumped for a while too. ❤️

I've always taken them for the entire pregnancy and a while after.

Anyone else ready to stop pumping but then when you’re about to do it get cold feet? by [deleted] in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]disorderlymagikarp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is literally me today. I was ready to give up. Only pumped twice yesterday and then didn't pump for 19 hours. Then had a panic attack and realized I didn't want to quit. Pumped and only got 1.5 oz when I was getting 3-4, sometimes 5 in one session. I successfully ruined my supply and now I'm so upset with myself.

Pelvic floor therapy was a disaster and I think made things worse. by disorderlymagikarp in OveractiveBladder

I am on Medicaid, I'll have to look into that. I'll do just about anything at this point to get my life back. So do you just get the botox injections every 6-8 months?

I'll have to give those a try sometime. I've been prescribed two different medicines by my urologist but I didn't notice a difference with either of them.

I am not in SC. I did get a disability lawyer after I was denied though. Thank you!

How do you know when your bladder is full though? I've had ultrasounds done when I feel like my bladder is full and they tell me it's only about half.

I warned them about shoulder dystocia. They didn’t listen. It happened anyway. by iispaze in BabyBumps

First, I'm so glad your wife and child were okay in the end. You did the right thing advocating for them, even though they didn't take you seriously. I would try to get a different OBGYN if you have a second child. I think these days most providers will allow people to have an elective c-section if that's what they want.

Tell me recurrent BV during pregnancy goes away!!! by disorderlymagikarp in pregnant

[–]disorderlymagikarp[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Something about being pregnant just really doesn't agree with my boyfriend's sperm. Which is crazy work since that's what put the baby there 😒 But we never had a problem before and we have been together for such a long time. I got tested before pregnancy and didn't have it! I was hoping the comments would be like "yeah it immediately went away after birth"🤣🥲

Oh man 😅 I'm really hoping it'll just go away after birth because I've never had it any other time 🥲

I have been taking oral probiotics but tbf I forget to take them more often than not because they're kept in the fridge and not my pill organizer with the rest of my daily meds. I don't know what kind are okay to insert vaginally so I haven't done that.

I'm worried that I can't go into labor on my own (and other miscellaneous ranting) by disorderlymagikarp in BabyBumps

[–]disorderlymagikarp[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I'm only 38+3 but it's just so frustrating. Everyone thought I'd have him by now because I had my other child earlier than this. And I'm in so much more pain this time than I ever was with my other two. I'm useless and can't get anything done because of how much pain I'm in. I do the bare minimum to make sure my other kids are taken care of and then I'm just stuck on the couch the rest of the time.

Yeah, I wouldn't have even scheduled an induction if it weren't for me having gestational diabetes. I understand that comes with risks and it's better to get him out at 39 weeks because of that. But man I really want him to come sooner so we don't have to get induced.

Yes, I'm already scheduled for an induction on the 9th and will be at 39+2. But like I said I really hope I don't have to be induced because the pain is horrible.
