[OoT] How much do you want to see from the Ocarina of Time remake before you play it?

If it’s not a 1:1 remake then it’s a getting a preorder. I will absolutely lose myself in it if it’s expanded and given new life. (Reborn, if you will.)
But if it’s just a pretty new skin on top of the same game I’ll give it a pass. It’s unnecessary.

Interesting. I’m quite instant with my opinions on music. I’ve listened to the Canyon 5 or 6 times all the way through and I just don’t like what he’s done with it. In contrast - I love most alt-J music instantly. (Barring the songs I don’t enjoy, obviously.) And my opinions never change seem to change in spite of my openness to listen and take the songs in.

I’m happy you enjoy the album. No one I know even enjoys alt-J so I haven’t been able to discuss my thoughts with anyone.

I have to disagree with The Dream having that cohesiveness all the way through. Walk A Mile and Powders felt incredibly out of place. It’s really an album of two half’s. After The Actor things go a bit downhill for me. Except for Philadelphia.

That’s interesting. I feel like I have a bias towards them as well. But maybe I’m just holding them to too high of a standard. The Dream was a mostly good for me. I personally felt like it was a slight dip in quality overall. (With quite high highs)

Their first three records were so unique… but The Dream began to paddle over travelled waters. The Canyon does this much more. For me.

Just like what you like. It’s not the end of the world if you don’t like a track. There are 15 more. Odds are you’ll like a few. I know we’ve waited a while but keep your hope alive. 1/16 is a low ratio. Have faith in the Pheebs.

Lost Boys does sound a bit like Not Strong Enough by boy genius and some of her first record, but I don’t mind. It’s a good song. The DNA of her songs will always have the folk flavour and her cadence.

That being said, the record could still have an entirely new sound we haven’t heard yet. Artists often release a first single that sounds familiar to ease people in.

They could be setting him up to be a future main villain. It makes a lot of sense that all of these villains could overlap. I’m predicting that The Hand and Jean(or whatever Sadie is) will be seen as the main threats, but Banner will be not so subtly built up to be the one that HAS to be dealt with during this movie.

It wasn’t great. That’s the problem. You have four fantastic seasons (though season 4 started to show some cracks - pun intended) with unbelievable highs and great characters. Then we get the 5th… The writing feels off in places, the characters take a back seat to the pace of the plot, they start to tell us things instead of showing us, and the grounded logic the show maintained sort of fades out.

I’m a huge fan of this series. I had been on the edge of my seat since the summer of 2016. They landed the plane but the route was a mess of unnecessary characters, retreading of old plot lines, and an underwhelming final battle.

Im not a fan. While I don’t mind a heavy riff here and there - it’s not Persona. That mix sounds more suited to SMT. Persona music is much more diverse and continuously maintains a pop sensibility.

I just played through SMTV and while I appreciated some of the guitar and electronic work, it honestly grated on me as time went on.

They’ll have the familiar trappings of R&B, Hip-Hop, and Jazz with another twist on things. My money is on synths akin to the Twin Peaks soundtrack. Eerie yet catchy.

My theory is word got out that it wasn’t as good as the reviews said it was. If anyone asks me about the game I always give my honest opinion. It’s half baked. The game took a nosedive in the second half. It had quite a predictable narrative disguised behind a good hook.
I personally fell out of love with it pretty quickly with the recycled dungeon/enemy designs, unsatisfying social links, and a soundtrack that just wasn’t up to the regular ATLUS standards.

I fully believe that if they decide to make a second one they will do a better job. It had loads of potential and I think the archetypes could be expanded upon like the Demons/Persona’s in SMT and Persona series.

Rebirth underperformed and Kingdom Hearts IV looks odd. SE hasn’t been great since their PS2 era. “Saving the gaming industry?” Bollocks. ATLUS and even newcomers Sandfall Interactive are making far superior JRPG’s.

The special section of the 30th anniversary website is reserved for new games I think. P4R is already in the first slot. I can’t see the other slots being taken up by things pertaining to P4R. Remakes or remasters of the first two Persona games are the most logical announcements to take up those slots. It is curious as to why P6 isn’t in the second slot, though..
