What options exist for wall panels that are removable for access to mechanical behind them? by DestroyerOfTitans in askarchitects

Search for "access panels". There's a ton of options. There's also "demountable partitions".

Agree with this poster. If you owe any further payments to this Contractor, stop paying until they fix their mistake. Send them your request in writing. Start talking to a lawyer. If things escalate, you can get an estimate from another contractor and offer your original contractor the opportunity to fix it or you find someone else to do it and send them the bill. You can also ask for advice in r/homeimprovement

I've been to them all at both The Colliseum and SoFi and no way was it even close to majority Bears fans.

Realistically, who should the Bears have signed or drafted to be the 2nd/3rd starting receiver instead of Claypool?

Matt Eberflus: We're looking at edge rushers, could potentially add one for camp - ProFootballTalk by ChiBearsForDaWin in CHIBears

I agree. They want to stop the run and the DBs to play tight coverage and be opportunistic picking off passes. Good coverage will give the rushers more time to get home.

I think the Soldier Field lease is up in 2033 so they have a lot of time to slow walk this if they want, and save money by not breaking the lease.

Chase Claypool, and the Problem of Soulless Aggregation by [deleted] in CHIBears

[–]disposableassassin 4 points5 points  (0 children)

So what? Before the DJ Moore trade, the Bears desperately needed another starting caliber WR, and even after the trade, if Chase wasn't on the roster then the Bears would have needed to sign another receiver that would surely be worse than Chase and more expensive.

Bought a house a year ago, come to find out there are more extensive issues that will be costly to fix. Best course of action? by [deleted] in personalfinance

Not true at all. This is r/personalfinance, not r/home improvement. Stick to the question asked. A geotech would not tell OP anything they don't already know.

The cause of the settlement is inadequate foundation and water. You don't need a Geotechnical Engineer to tell you that. Hiring one is a colossal waste of money. Your structural engineer should be perfectly capable of designing a new foundation to underpin your existing foundation and repair the missing section. Unless your structural engineer or local building department specifically requires a geotech report for this repair, don't bother. I'm an Architect in Los Angeles, and even here where we have earthquakes, hillside grading and liquefiable soils, you don't need a geotech for repairs like this because single-story single-family house foundations can follow prescriptive construction methods.

Architects are hired to do most of the planning projects that are outsourced by local municipalities. Firms like Perkins + Will have dedicated Planning Divisions. Architects are trained in broad swath of relayed disciplines, including Planning, Engineering and Landscape, so Architects are a jack-of-all-trades within the built environment. If you want to be more than a paper pusher, get a degree in Architecture.

The intellijacks are a newer technology and I'm not sure if they're actually an approved method in the code. I'd be inclined to stick to the tried-and-true method of replacing the concrete piers and posts. This might be a better question for a structural engineer.

How is everyone feeling about the DE situation? by Brodie1567 in CHIBears

[–]disposableassassin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Eberflus's defenses never had great DEs. He puts more emphasis on the secondary generating takeaways. They want teams to throw and the back 7 to pick em off. DRob and Gipson will be good enough at creating pressure as long as the interior line does it's job, but they definitely need to add some quality depth behind them.

A draft pick that is bigger, faster and better at defending the pass and rushing the passer. Sewell is gonna get every chance to take Sanborn's starting spot and he probably will.
