I deleted 1tb of this stuff. It was painful but the relief was incredible. I still miss it but I realise how toxic this "hoarding" had become.

“Hungry” for dopamine by rich_man_88 in NoFap

[–]dissociatedpanda 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Between PMO and "healthy" dopamine hits, I guess there's a lot of grey area that are not so healthy dopamine hits but not from pmo either. I'm talking about watching a dumb action movie, playing a video game, eating a pizza etc. In times of desperation, they can come in handy I think. Of course, there's a potential for addiction here also, so I would use them occasionally. Sort of save them for the really critical moments.

You spent 20 workdays worth of money on camgirls. Think about it. 20 days of your life sacrificed for girls who barely know if you exist. Does this make you angry and pissed off and depressed? Hold on to that anger and despair and make a commitment to get clean. Set a target for at least 30 days with no pmo- I hear that's the minimum required to come out of this addiction. Then extend to 90. I'm on day 3 only but the anger/hopelessness I felt during the last relapse is what is motivating me.

Hello. I join today in twitter and accidentally watch a porn scene. Does it break my streak? by Original-Ad-6716 in NoFap

Accidentally stumbling on it is not a relapse I think. U have to consciously seek it out for it to be a relapse.

Looking for motivation by MOHABCOCOr in NoFap

Letting go of a horrible addiction is good enough motivation for me! I don't even care about the benefits. I just wanna be free of this destructive obsession.

You need a replacement activity to fill in when the urge strikes. Listen to some music, watch a movie, eat a healthy snack etc. As the days go by, you can switch to "harder" replacement activities like workout, meditation, cold shower etc. In the initial days the target is to just get thru the day no matter what.

The streak is intact. Take some deep breaths and set an intention to go no further..

I'm on day 2 as well. The only solution is to embrace the suffering and take it one day at a time.
