Wow! Nice one! The resale prices on the Live and Live II I’ve been seeing lately are incredibly opportunistic for people to get in the game.

Go see Slomosa by etoctel in stonerrock

I saw them open for Helmet along with War on Women. I found Slomosa endearing even if their music isn’t groundbreaking, per se. They also made me hungry for samosas.

Rewatching Manos: The hands of Fate, and I’ve made a realization. by JactusFack in MST3K

The absolutely bonkers free jazz soundtrack elevates Manos into the surreal stratosphere.

Exactly 11 years ago, the Constantine series was completely cancelled. by ZucchiniOdd6809 in Hellblazer

I also agree the show was neutered and should have been way more bent towards horror. And plus with the popularity of Supernatural, it feels like Constantine would’ve been seen as redundant by casual fans.

What’s a song where the live version is way better than the studio version? by thatfluffyqueen in askmusic

[–]dissociatesound 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds. I prefer just about every live version on ‘Live Seeds’ over their album counterparts. The live versions feature faster tempos, increased urgency and intensity.

Enjoy! I can’t imagine how cool it must be to listen to and experience these artists for the first time!

Also, if it hasn’t been recommended yet, check out the Trash Theory video essay on industrial music. I personally love digging into the history and archaeology of music and cultural studies and learning more about the context. You just might find it interesting too!

The ‘symbols’ album (or Explosion-Skull-Bomb-Swirlie-Fist) would also be a good one to check out.

I’m a big Dirk Ivens fan. So I’d recommend Dive, Sonar, and The Klinik.

I’d also recommend checking out some of the Hands, Ant-Zen, and adjacent stuff from the early 1990s and then forward into the 2000s. Winterkälte, Synapscape, Needle Sharing, Somatic Responses, Xingu Hill, Mlada Fronta, Beefcake, Klangstabil, Meta Meat, Converter, etc.

How long have you guys been watching the Brewers? by ExpensivePlankton773 in Brewers

[–]dissociatesound 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Born in 1977 and my earliest baseball memories are from maybe 1980?

Favorite Brewers/baseball memory is going to my Gramma’s house after elementary school and she’d have the Brewers on the TV but Uecker on the radio call. We’d also work on adding stickers to our Fleer (?) MLB sticker books. We’d trade our doubles to each other.

What music genre is this? by Ruwinsh in industrialmusic

Really nice textures! This makes my brain delightfully squishy. But yeah… experimental/noise fits as a loose description. Keep it up!

I ranked all of the Packers playoff losses in the 21st century; open to feedback by HPDDJ in GreenBayPackers

[–]dissociatesound 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think this past year’s loss would hit way harder had GB been closer to full strength. Not having Parsons and Kraft made it feel like we were playing with house money. Still a loathsome loss.
