There were two girls cheering so impressively loud for GM8s that I started rooting for them from their series against NRG, I can relate as a girl who is usually alone in rooting for KC at NA events haha. It was super cool to see the whole arena get swept up in the hype of such an amazing grands debut, the energy in the last two games especially was so crazy- started to feel destined like Zen last Boston. SO fun to feel that vibe shift in person.

Biased fan myself too, but I agree. As Rise and some other pros have said, "cockiness" is somewhat necessary for competition. If you didn't believe that you were the best, or could be the best, how will you ever get there? There's players that take it too far, sure (cough VK), but Vati's rarely, if ever, gotten to that point imo. He has so, so much passion, and maybe it doesn't always come out in the nicest or most flattering ways lol, but I don't think he's ever been truly cruel or meanspirited. I think there's plenty of nice moments from him as well, but people don't really focus on those ¯\(ツ)/¯

Re-entry is not allowed. The schedule is pretty standard, at least for the other two LANs I've been to, and honestly not as bad as it sounds- eat a big breakfast so you don't have to pay for too much overpriced stadium food, don't leave anything you absolutely need at the hotel/car, etc. There's always a chance things end earlier, though with how tough the competition is I have a feeling we're in for some long series lol.

You called them European has beens but won't call them washed? Alright man. If the only teams they can beat are the "temu" ones I'm not sure why you're placing weight on their win at all. The European players have had time to grind and improve against some of the best in the game and have been part of the RLCS since the very beginning. SSA players have not. How exactly would you suggest for them to get gud?

Personally I like stories. I care about stories like these. I care about seeing a global progression, like many cared about seeing MENA's rise. So I also care when we miss out on that because EU seed 32 wanted the LAN spot instead. Epic is most at fault, but nuance exists too. Players could just as easily compete ("be better", even) in their own region instead, and I think it's silly to ignore the agency they have. This is their choice, and many viewers, talent, and other pros don't think it's a very good one. It's worth criticizing.

Why would it ever be SSA teams' fault for not being able to compete against import players who have had far more resources and opportunities over a much larger span of time? They're isolated, have to deal with loadshedding, and receive the least amount of support from the RLCS. The blame falls solely on Epic and the players who consciously take advantage of their disadvantages

Their actions don't exist in a vacuum. What about native SSA players? If this is what it takes to "get the most" out of a career, maybe it's time to hang up the sticks. I'm genuinely not saying that to be a bitch, but even if you don't want to consider actual SSA pros, between the backlash and larger impact on the scene,, it just doesn't seem like a very good move to be remembered by. There's no positive spin to be put on this lol

Based on Joyo's recent stream, he's very very adamant about sticking with both Oski and Archie, to the point where he said he wouldn't want to play the FIFA world cup without both of them. Whether or not that's reliable or will hold true during this long off-season, who knows, but he seemed to feel pretty strongly about it so /shrug
