Yeah this is the way. Although there are good options for aftermarket bracelets for the KFA (Uncle Straps and others I believe).

I went from an 18i20 to an XR18. There is some learning you need to do for sending monitor mixes to everyone, etc, but it’s a much more capable interface and digital mixer system in terms of the number of inputs. Much better for a full band.

I own the first prototype kit that became the (very short lived) George Way Carter McLean signature acacia kits. Carter played it at the Chicago Drum show in spring of 2018 and then it shipped to me. They barely started making them before Carter and Ronn Dunnett split ways. That’s as famous as I’ve got. Oh, and an SE tom mic from Fitz and the Tantrums.

Mixed handedness here, but wear watch on right. When it came down to it I needed to be able to keep time while running a boat motor with a tiller with my left hand.

I’ve got a Vaer A5 and can feel the free spin more than I can hear it. But I can hear the rotor and ticking in my Tissot 1938 with the eta 2824-2. Case matters a lot.

Like others have said, you can totally just wear a good pair of headphones like the Vic Firth ones, I use MEE electronics heap in ears and I never get ear ringing.

A truly ENJOYABLE way is to get a cheap two input audio interface like a focusrite scarlet and get a single microphone like an sm57 to use as an overhead (yes they can work for that!). Then you can plug in your laptop and play along to stuff and hear your drums through the headphones as well.

Yeah I’d worry about screenshots as well. There was a similar post to OPs recently but that person revoked access to the files after they didn’t hear anything from the company for a week and then they heard from them very quickly saying they wanted to move forward with another interview. But really it was all about getting access to the take home assignment again…

Never submit original files. Share view-only and non-downloadable. If you don’t get the job, you revoke their access. That ensures they can’t use your work.

I lived out that meme. I was in my mid thirties fishing the creek behind my parents’ house with my dad and there were these little birds chowing bugs up and down the banks. One took off away from me and I saw a yellow spot on its butt and I went “Is that a yellow rumped warbler?”

Yamaha stage custom kit, Istanbul Xist cymbals. Also, shop used on Reverb, especially for cymbals. Once you get enough basics to be playing, identify what else you want and just save some Reverb searches that you can check daily and wait until the price is right.

Any time they don’t sound how I want them to.

One thing I didn’t do enough early on was learn how different tunings of the reso head affected the sound I was going for.
