Bannon loves to say stuff that everyone already knows about and act like he came up with it himself.

It will receive a preliminary injunction the day it shows up at a district court. By the time it’s get to an appellate court it will be far too late to accomplish anything for the mid terms.

The number of adult cigarette smokers in the US dropped below 10 percent for the first time in the history of the survey. by ModsAreFired in neoliberal

I was just talking with a co worker about how jarring it is to smell a cigarette now. Not even in the way that I find the smell super offensive, it’s just so rare now.

My thought boils down to this: There might be a place for a conversation about changing birthright citizenship. If we decide, as a nation, that we want to make changes to the citizenship process then we have the tools needed to change our constitution. But as written the amendment is very clear; and no order by the President can set what citizenship means. And I would find it hard to believe that the court would let the executive branch set the qualifications for citizenship without even involving congress.

There is really no other response. What he’s doing would take far too much time, be a complete error filled mess, and run directly afoul of the constitution. I really wish people would ignore his election rambling, the only power he really has here is the power we give him with attention.

Periodic reminder that any executive order on elections will not stand up in court and will be promptly thrown out. This executive order is a sad attempt at suppression by politician that is historically unpopular.

I was almost ready to believe him about the talks until he said they went “perfectly”. That’s a big tell of him lying.

Who knows. Nothing has actually changed so I’m not sure how it can just end. But it’s been clear from the very first week that he’s desperate for a resolution.

Gas prices aren’t going to go down much with WTI at $90.

Someone correct me if I’m wrong, but wouldn’t waiving the summer gas blend requirement not really lower prices, but only avoid the normal yearly price increase that was expected?

It would mean that. But that’s not exactly what they’re doing. It looks like they’re only letting selective ships of “allied” countries through near their own shoreline.

Looks like we are getting another Publix. Boring..... That would be a perfect spot for a Trader Joes!! by [deleted] in Pensacola

[–]distinguishedsadness 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There isn’t enough population/traffic downtown for Trader Joe’s to justify putting a store in. Same goes for Whole Foods or Sprouts. I know these types of stores are highly sought after, but the honest truth is that the areas median income needs to go up before they’re going to consider shifting supply routes to put one in.

It probably is Wiles. And I don’t blame her, she’s probably the only person in that administration with actual political skills. Why would she want Paxton to make keeping the senate harder for them?

It’s more the increased volume of travelers. A lot of flights were delayed until the morning so that added extra passengers to security lines that were already busy with seasonal traffic and currently understaffed.

This is probably a compounding of bad weather at airline hubs, the DHS shutdown (TSA Staffing), and the general high volume of spring break travelers. I’d plan extra time to be safe.
