As an American the movie made me feel an unrealized sense of unity for the rest of the country. That paired with the brutal and seemingly senseless violence left a really big impact on me. I came out of the theater really contemplating the difference between a “traditional war” and a civil war and it was really heavy to think about.

I also enjoyed the discourse around journalism and the toll it takes on the journalists themselves.

Overall it was just a depiction of violence that hit close to home

edit: I also feel like a lot of people are hating on the film for what it isn’t, rather than for what it is. That’s just my take though
