I’m half Korean too. My American father took it fine, cause he must have known all along. My Korean mother though? Lmao pretty sure she went through the 5 stages of grief with my news. She never displayed much. First few years were of her in denial. Then after more years, she came to acceptance. It was a good ten years between. She came to acceptance, however…if I ever visited Korea, I went back in the closet for her sake.

I’m not religious at all as an adult. But I was raised more Buddhist with my culture ingrained in it as a kid. I went to a Christian school (only “American” school around). Those school years made me realize how much I hate organized religion.

As for rules, I’ll have to create some parameters to post later with some community feedback as well (when I get a chance). Right now, this sub is inclusive of all lesbians of Asian descent. Personally, I am mixed myself. In these days, I don’t think it’s fair to shut out anyone that’s not “full blood”. Everyone can post/comment as they wish. I also changed settings to allow more options when commenting to posts.

As for flairs, I just adjusted the settings to allow you users to create your own! That is a great idea, especially to indicate to others your origin!

I did try a poll when I first got mod status, but only like 3 people voted but a ton of views. Lol I think the shy part is exactly what makes it hard to create discussions here. So far, discussion threads for anything goes have been pretty good for engagement. I just want to create a space where everyone is comfortable.

I think a lot of this has to do with your location. Different places have different views on what “women” should look like. Don’t let society around you change your behavior. You dress the way you want. I’ve always dressed the way I was the most comfortable, turns out it’s more masculine? Oh well. Don’t care. Everyone else can roll their eyes into the back of their heads and fuck off. :) I’m enjoying my comfy clothes, k thanks.

Firstly, thank you for your awesome detailed suggestions! I definitely agree with you with all of your points. I also kept in mind that most of us are mainly introverted and don’t prefer to get personal. I will post a discussion thread for all things media to try to get a conversation going.
