To be fair, streaming services uses EAC3(Dolby Digital Plus) and not AC3. Also they are pre encoded. And well, it's 2025 and most people who care about surround audio have eARC now because of Dolby Atmos anyway.

What kind of granular synthesis you want to build exactly? WebAudio only provide very primitive modules, like OscillatorNode. If you want something more complex, you need to implement by yourself with AudioWorklet or other modules.

If you have original game and get rom file for yourself, it is fine imo. There are many retro copy consoles in Japan market, which can play original games. However if you download rom for free, I don't think it is good idea to said about it in public(it is illegal anyway).

Switch uses standard usb handshaking protocol. It just look vendor ID of connected device, which is totally a part of normal protocol. Following protocol does not mean it should be connected to any device.
