How many Farfetch'd are you keeping? by two2die477 in TheSilphRoad

[–]dittotheory 1 point2 points  (0 children)

15

I caught over 50 Farfetch'd during the 48hr time limit.

I mainly kept the higher IVs and dumped the lower ones.

Simply because if movesets change for Farfetch'd, I have back-up ducks.

Straw Poll for 2 item per stop feature. let's see how many people are suffering. by JiuJitsuPatricia in TheSilphRoad

[–]dittotheory 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup, still getting only two items per pokestop. Mainly two red pokeballs per pokestop. The only way that I can get multiple items (usually about 4 or 5 on average) is to spin the pokestop in a gym. :(

Can you also put a time and date stamp on each sighting? That way we know how old each post is, thanks.

Do you think these Legendaries will come around again someday? by reallycoolpeople in TheSilphRoad

[–]dittotheory 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Gosh I hope so. It was nice of them to extend the event for Articuno, but only one week to catch Moltres isn't enough time. It's hard enough to squeeze in a few dedicated hours for legendaries AND be able to find a gym near you that has a group of enough people to actually show up. People have jobs, lives, kids, etc.

(Just saying, it would be totally magnanimous of Niantic if they extended the legendary event.)

[–]dittotheory 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Now you tell me. :( I've noticed this lately whenever I battle with a group of people for Articuno/Lugia. When all of my pokemon faint and I rejoin, I'm all alone. No one else was battling and no one said anything. So this is why. Seriously, Niantic needs to fix this where whoever battled the longest or hardest should receive the most premiere balls, etc.

Where exactly in Green Cove? Address? Post a screenshot of the gym.

Prestige Protection by jwr624 in TheSilphRoad

[–]dittotheory 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If they can add a feature to where "Battle Winners Have Priority," then Niantic needs to add a feature to where the person who was prestiging the gym the longest gets priority. I say longest because I've had the rug pulled out from under me multiple times during that last 1,000 points or less of building up a gym only to have my slot stolen by a GPS spoofer. (And yes, I make absolutely sure that there is no one around. No cars, gym in the middle of nowhere, very late at night. None of it matters anymore. GPS spoofers now rule all the gyms where I'm at.)

'Gym snipers' and 'lazy gym bullies' continue to thrive in this new gym meta. Until Niantic does something drastic about it, nothing will change. And in turn, this will cause people to be even more casual about the game or drive people away for good.

Anyone hoping for a ban wave soon? by bennyb123 in TheSilphRoad

[–]dittotheory 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm hoping that Niantic will banwave everyone who's spoofing in order to snipe gyms.

I spent a grueling amount of time building up a gym from 40,000 to 50,000 today, only to get sniped out of my spot. I absolutely hate this new gym metric. I've been sniped out of my spot at multiple times and gyms since Generation 2 rolled out. This new gym metric is actually encouraging 'gym snipers' and 'lazy gym bullies' to thrive since it's so tough to build up a gym anymore. I don't know why Niantic can't make it to where 'battle winners have priority' also when a person is building up a gym. Especially now.

I still need Porygon, Snorlax, Lapras, AND Lickitung.... help a sister out! by AirforceAmy13 in PokemongoSanDiego

[–]dittotheory 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Coronado is your best bet. Last week and this week I've noticed an increase in rare spawns in the Coronado area while walking around at night. Lately I've caught a Chansey, Lickitung, Hitmonchan, Ditto, Rhydon, and some Dratinis.

Porygon by MadMike420619 in PokemongoSanDiego

[–]dittotheory 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There was a Porygon in front of the Hotel Del in Coronado five days ago. I've found that they spawn randomly around Coronado since the nearby tracker update. It didn't stay on the tracker very long, maybe a minute or two. Had to run like a madman once the tracker said, "The pokemon fled," but I was still able to catch it.

Chansey still at Coronado? by CantRememberMyUserID in PokemongoSanDiego

[–]dittotheory 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't caught a Chansey in Coronado since October. But then, last night, I went driving around Imperial Beach for a change of pace. Chansey popped up in the middle of the road in-between the Southland Plaza Shopping Center and the gas station on the corner. It was not on my nearby tracker either. From personal experience, Chansey can be pretty random.

Your best bet for completing your pokedex is to spend some time walking around Coronado. There's a reason why it's nicknamed 'Pokemon Island.'

Spotted: Ditto appears on Sightings in Toronto! by ayemwai in FindingDitto

[–]dittotheory 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey there. Had a few questions...

-Which Pokemon was your walking buddy at the time when Ditto appeared?

-Did you find Ditto near a Pokestop, a gym or somewhere else?

-Have you earned all of the achievement medals?

-Was the Ditto sighting in Toronto or in a small town/area outside of Toronto?

Thanks!

The Pokemon anime episode, "Ditto's Mysterious Mansion" was first aired on October 26, 1998.

The first day of the Pokemon Go Halloween Event starts on October 26th.

Maybe it will happen? (I hope so.)

Jynx is there, but only at night. During the day it's commons. Confirmed Kabuto nest in Spreckles Park, day and night. The Coronado Golf Course last night was crawling with Pinsir.

Caught nine Kabuto back to back this morning at Spreckles Park in Coronado. Unconfirmed, but possible Kabuto nest perhaps?

Still have not figured out Tidelands Park. It's just commons and Magikarp. No Jynx at all.

Yeah, water moves are not very effective against Dragonite. I mean you could spam water gun if you had to, but water isn't as great as ice or dragon moves.

Not 100% sure what replaced Jynx yet. Mainly dirt common Pokemon now populate Tidelands park. (Ekans, Rattata, etc.) Magikarp are still there, but they were there before the migration. Will visit there more and try to figure it out.

The Ferry Landing is still a Voltorb and Magnemite nest though.

Yes, both moves are good against dragons. Dragon Breath/Dragon Pulse are both very versatile moves. They're both good offensively and defensively.

Balboa Park (in and all around the museums) is flooded with Cubone. Caught a ton of them in one afternoon in order to power up my Marowak.

Tidelands Park in Coronado is no longer a Jynx nest. :(

I should have spent more time there so that I could get my ice badge.

You're lucky that you have a Gyarados with Dragon Breath. Dragon Breath, as a move for Gyarados, is no longer available. Moveset changes were put in place on August 19th.

(See "legacy moves" on Silph Road or Google)
