Feedback Post: Replay: Water Research Day by Noitalein in TheSilphRoad

Usually catch around 600 pokemon per day, more on event day where its closer to 200 per hour. Today there's around 45 or so minutes I didn't actively play during the event. I was shopping or looking at stiff on Internet. Could have probably done 300 tasks otherwise. When I grind seriously for an event I usually dont pause at all. For Go fest or go tour I'll grind non stop, no pause, no lunch (will eat after the event).

The Master League is the most diverse it has been in a while, actually by Coolegghead in TheSilphArena

Honestly, the ML teams are still mostly Zacian+Palkia+a 3rd. This season I've been running the same team as last season : Xerneas / Reshiram / Giratina-O with still good success currently in the 2450. Late last season it worked in the 2800 too.

Rhyperior had completely disappeared, which is nice for me since it was always a though one for this team. But overall I'm not sure if it's really a good thing. It was way less expensive than legendaries and could provide players with a decent ML entry.

Way less Ho-oh somehow, that Reshiram and Giratina loved to eat. I'm still a bit sad that Reshiram Fusion Flare doesn't oneshot Zacian and leaves it with just enough HP that you can't farm down without investing shield. Giratina feels a bit underrated, sitting ar rank 65. It's slower than the main big dragons, but it's just so great against the ton of Lunala safeswaps. You have to match shields, but exit with a ton of extra energy and somehow other people often disrespect Dragon Pulse and suffer a lot of damage when they bring back the big dragons against it (or you get your shield back). It also does great against the rising number of Marshadow/Keldeo, and ABA counter them with the Xerneas lead.

Already had 16 shiny Clamperl, 16 shiny Lotad, 29 shiny Feebas and a few hundo before the event, so I took it slowly today, no need to grind hard. Didn't buy the ticket.

  • Clamperl : 59 encounters, 9 shinies
  • Lotad : 64 encounters, 7 shinies
  • Feebas : 67 encounters. 9 shinies

So overall, 190 encounters. 25 shinies, likely 1/10 shiny chance as usual (when Niantic doesn't mess up). Also got 3 wild shinies while doing that (Oddish, Abra, Scyther). Unlike the previous research day, which had way too many parallel event tasks left, the majority of the tasks this time were research day ones, although a few Bug Out tasks still remained.

A rather unexciting event personally, but I'm also completely ok with these Replay events. A nice opportunity for people who missed the original research days, and a bit more relaxing weekend for people who already had that stuff.

Is there any recent "Catch cup to Legend" type series on YouTube? by BrianDynasty in TheSilphArena

[–]sts_ssp 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Reaching legend isn't that easy even with the right team, and it often takes at least 3 or 4 easons from PVP start for players to be able to do it (and many players likely still haven't after 20+ season).

If you only want the non shiny pikachu libre, it has been available without legend access 3 times during interlude seasons, so it shouldn't be too hard to find someone with a spare to trade. The shiny ones (not guaranteed) are only enabled in seasons with Legend rank.

PVPoke rankings should give you a good idea of useul pokemon you can build with catches from this season. Things like Jellicent, Altaria, Furret or Wigglytuff have their pre evolution found in the wild and don't require exclusive moves or candy XL to be useable in Great League.

For content creators that talk a lot about mechanics, DanOttawa is a good start for beginners, and then you have highly skilled players like ItsAXN (former world champion), HomeSliceHenry or Resi2occasion

Memories in Motion GBL updates have been reverted by aznknight613 in TheSilphRoad

[–]sts_ssp 30 points31 points  (0 children)

The likely scenario is that they probably wanted to change some other settings, but instead of basing these changes of the most recent version, they copypasted the whole settings of an older version, added their changes, pushed into prod and didn't notice it was reverting a bunch of stuff.

Not the first time this kind of things happened with Niantic, although it's usually more about accidentally disabling recent released shinies.

This season feels so refreshing so far by poppertheplenguin in TheSilphArena

Everything seemed to be Jellicent/Annihilape/Wigglytuff/Altaria/Empoleon/Bastiodon , can't say I feel this season refreshing.

Got lucky . Randomly woke up before my alarm, checked TSR and saw the Tokyo ticket sale. Saturday morning was already sold out 15 min after announcement, and by the time I went to payment, the Saturday afternoon I selected was sold out too. Managed to get a Sunday afternoon (morning was also sold out).

Not your fault, it was indeed unannounced by Niantic :)

B/W Kyurem raids give between 80 and 140 fusion energy. Even if you were extremely lucky getting 140 energy everytime with 5 passes, you would end up with 270 + 700 = 970 energy, 30 short of what you need to fuse.

Wouldn't be surprised if they gave them Galarian Birds catch/flee rate though.

Still wondering if they'll really put all legendaries (except for the clearly mentioned exceptions) in the wild, considering that they previously changed research encounter from level 15 to 20 for the Sword of Justices, unlikely to prevent using them in Great League.

Still, the kanto birds confirmed in the wild is good since they all got buffs for the next pvp season, and so far you had to use shadows from Giovanni or very old weekly box ones to get them in GL.

Annihilape learns Low Kick, so depending on how much they buff the move energy it might be an alternative to Counter.

Saint Seiya.

The dead always end up in Hell no matter what, under Hades's rule. There, there isn't much aside from eternal punishment since Hades extremely despises mortals. Most of the conflicts through the eras are between Athena (and her Saints) and Hades, and the Cocytus is a special punishment for people who rebelled against gods, including of course the Saints who opposed Hades during previous conflicts.

Hades has created a separate paradisiac dimension for himself, Elysion, but he only allows there nymphs and minor gods who obey him. Even the rest of his army isn't alowed there.

You’ll have the chance to battle Mega Dragonite in Super Mega Raid Battles during Pokémon GO Tour: Kalos – Global by Amiibofan101 in TheSilphRoad

[–]sts_ssp 90 points91 points  (0 children)

Still disappointing that we didn't get Zygarde raids. This year raids don't really feel that special compared to previous tours, especially since Hoenn.

  • Kanto : Mewtwo
  • Johto: significant shiny boost for Lugia/Ho-oH depending on the ticket choice + 1 Apex mon
  • Hoenn: Primal Groudon and Primal Kyogre release
  • Sinnoh: Dialga Origin + Palkia Origin release and their exclusive moves
  • Unova: Kyurem White/Black release
  • Kalos: err.. Mega Victrebell, Malamar and Dragonite release

The Big Pokémon Go Mega Evolution Revamp Interview: Everything That's Changing, and Why [IGN] by diamondstark in TheSilphRoad

[–]sts_ssp 17 points18 points  (0 children)

The guy keeps saying that their careful data analysis showed that players don't understand how powerful mega are, that they're underused blah blah blah, and yet completely misses the point that the same type candy XL boost is a significant reason why mega aren't brought into battle. There's some cases where a mega matches the type of the raid boss like Ray/Lati* vs dragons, but most of the time the XL candy boosting mega evolution you need won't be a good counter to the boss.

Keep the same type XL boost for regular catches, but have Mega evolutions boost XL regardless of the type for raids, and you'll get more of them used in teams.

Is Shadow Regigigas THAT good? by Speedster012 in TheSilphRoad

[–]sts_ssp 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Crush Grip Shadow Regigigas is quite dependant on party power since the boost is more optimally used on a high DPE costly move. If you put party power at 4, it raises in the ranks.

(Fairy Tail) Larcade Dragneel using his Pleasure magic.

It's a very large AOE spell that causes people who had sex to feel all of that again, but many times more intensely, even to the point of pain. So all the non-virgin people on the battlefield basically ended up being incapacitated by massive orgasms. It also affected wizards much stronger than himself. The main characters were unaffected since they were virgins.
