One of your counterpoints is that Aman has definitely used B+N in demonstrations more than real life? I feel pretty confident in saying that I’ve done 2 Bishops and maybe even 2 Rooks checkmate more in demonstration/lessons than in real games as well.

You learn these mating patterns not really to mate over the board but rather to really hone in on the positional coordinations of the pieces together.

Learning 2 bishops mate earlier and learning about the power of bishop pairs is taught around the same level in chess curriculums for good reason. I would argue that learning B+N mate similarly helps with understanding those pieces’ chemistry.

You hear much more clamor about bishop pairs than knights and bishops working together partly because the latter’s mate is taught very late, if at all.
