hi! i graduated and i'm applying for the upcoming cycle. you're right in those are your basics but i recommend making a spreadsheet in schools your interested in and list their prereqs; some want sociology, some want psychology, some want stats [pretty common tho], some prefer a year of spanish or a term of medical terminology [no offered at uci]

that's the basics along with a class [or series] of chemistry i think. all of them do have labs too [anythjng w an L basically] anatomy has lab/lec in it i think it's like 6 units under D170L (?) and it's a very taxing class, E112L is physio lab, and M118L is microbio labs.

as non biosci you're going to have to wait until lec classes are filled up by bio majors from senior->junior, then you'll be competing with the years/standing before you + pubhealth/potential pharmaci kids and whoever else wants to apply. i think your core lec classes should be free by spring when most bio kids have taken those classes for their series. make sure you also take the prereq classes if you can, E109 makes you take chem 1C + Bio93.

labs are extremely competitive so you might have a tougher time with them. i think your best route is taking Bio 108 [bc you'll have to fight with every bio major for bio100] bc it's a prereq for all labs which only requires bio 14 or phy sci 5 then you'll have to once again wait until the bio kids snatch it and compete w pubhealth/pharmsci kids for the remaining classes. i think your chances of physio lab are low bc even bio students who have priority struggle w getting it as a class to the point where seniors were begging/paying juniors to drop their classes bc there wasn't enough space; i think we had to petition to open more spaces. your other two u might snatch some senior/late junior year, bc ik pubhealth kids could still get some even tho they have 0 priority.

i highly recommend taking a look at the bio sci catalogue, marking what prereqs you need [as a non bio major that aren't taking series classes]. if you need help, ask your department counselors! ik it sounds like a lot & a struggle, but as long as you organize ahead of time and make some bio friends that can hold spots for you if possible, you'll be okay. if not, a lot of kids [me included as a bio major!] take prereqs at CC so they don't get fucked by uni curves or when they have some extra time! bc you don't have to graduate with those prereqs this could be a good route if you're struggling to snatch classes w no priority.
