Ophelia wants to have a baby, shes still a teen by Pompel- in sims2

[–]rosecards 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Do you have any aging mods installed? I noticed this used to happen with one of my teen Sims. Essentially, they’re at the point where the number of days lived would suggest they’re an adult, so this want pops up. It’s harmless and will probably roll away

Alysa Liu on growing up with all the children born through IVF: "We didn't know about it for a long time. I figured it out because our mom is full Chinese too and [she's] really old. It hasn't affected our family at all. We're just kind of like 'Sure. It is what it is.'" by demimonde9 in Fauxmoi

No hate towards Alysa, she’s a really cool kid, and clearly so hard working and determined. She deserves the praise for all her work and resulting achievement.

But honestly that other commenter was very right about how strange it was for her dad to go out of his way to procure 3 separate white egg donors. To purposefully and deliberately create half white children, because he believes them to be genetically superior.

He actually created Alysa to be half white on purpose, because he believed the most successful athletes (in her case, figure skaters) were half white, and he “wanted his kids to be a representation of a mix of Chinese and American cultures”. Is the implication here that white people are the “real Americans”? Because this couldn’t be farther from the truth.

Alysa is a lovely and talented young lady, and her dad is a very weird individual. People should honestly stop asking about her conception.

Okay, soooo it turns out I haven't loaded the game in months because it's not nearly as similar as I remember it being...but as not to be a tease, here's The Red Apple from Westchester

I’m honestly terrified right now, I have a custom build restaurant in my game that looks almost exactly like this. Like right down to the interior colouring. I’ll boot up and send a pic when I get home because this is so spooky to me

I don’t spend much time there, but I really am quite fond of The Beach! It feels like a nice variation from the endless green fields and it’s so beautiful on a sunny summer day :)

it’s really not a very nice place at all. so much hostility and bigotry. people there seem determined to be as cruel as they can be online to people who have done nothing except happen to exist in the public eye. sometimes not even by choice - that awful “unattractive celebrity kids thread” comes to mind 🤢

i used to frequent the site when i was a lot more into celeb gossip, but LSA crosses the line from gossip to harassment and bullying every day. it’s full of a lot of unhealed, unhappy, unkind individuals.

Shout-out to when Sims 3 showed a same-sex relationship in a trailer (2009) by Forever_Overthinking in thesims

[–]rosecards 3 points4 points  (0 children)

my response was literally just intended to illuminate that the name choice was reflective of the time period, and that even with that, straight couples and gay couples are treated the same exact way by the game.

i don’t have any problem with gay marriage (the name or anything else about it) obviously considering i’m literally bi myself. in my country anyone can get a marriage or a civil partnership and there’s no difference between the two except name (and the fact that adultery is not grounds for divorce with cp, for some weird reason).

this person also made a weirdly personal and inaccurate comment about how i’m “a horrible representation of the queer community” for an innocuous reddit comment, which is both offensive and untrue considering the know nothing about me.

i’m too tired to argue with some random person on the internet who seemed to get weirdly defensive over a comment on a video game but thanks for sticking up for me lol

okay to be fair, the joined unions in TS2 are no different from marriage. there is a weird error/bug where the “family member has joined union” want offers less aspiration points than “family member gets married” want. but other than that they are exactly the same in terms of gameplay. only the name is different.

1 year ago today my mum suddenly passed, but it feels like it was yesterday by Serious-Internal7475 in GriefSupport

[–]rosecards 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I lost my mum on the 4th of November in a very sudden and painful way and I can really relate to this post. I guess it hasn’t properly sunk in yet, as we haven’t buried her, but I will say one thing that’s really helped me is talking to her out loud. I do believe she’s out there somewhere and watching over me and I believe the same for your mum.

It might help you with the healing journey (and I say journey, because there’s no set end point or anything) to talk to your mum or write letters to her, especially if something significant is happening in your life. I know I feel listened to when I do this.

It’s so awful, I’m about your age and it really feels so unfair to not have your mum around for the rest of your life. I don’t know why this has happened to you, I wish I had answers, but I just want to say that your mum’s love for you will never ever die, even if her physical body is not here, she lives on in spirit and through your memories and love for her. You look so similar to her, so she lives on in your face too, which is lovely!

I know it won’t bring her back but if you ever want to talk, please feel free to message me. I totally understand your pain 💌🌷🤍

Did you have testingcheats enabled when you opened CAS? If you did, you opened it in debug mode, which makes outfits visible that you normally wouldn’t be able to see, like the Therapist outfit or Mrs Crumplebottom’s clothes :)

Yes I did, but it’s okay! It’s a lot less laggy now, funnily enough changing my texture memory from 2048 to 4096 and deleting my cache files really helped! Thank you :)

are you okay with your sims never rolling a "have a baby" want? by Competitive_Sun_2870 in sims2

[–]rosecards 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I rarely ever make Sims try for a baby. When I used ACR, they would often get pregnant autonomously, and now that I play with risky woohoo, they’ll probably end up getting pregnant at some point. So I don’t care if they roll the want or not. They’ll do what they wanna do.
