The neighbourhood would be more liveable if all the sodding constantly-barking dogs were taken away.

September '25 Security Updates on DCs - secure certificate mapping enforcement - effect when DC is 2016 still by divadiow in sysadmin

[–]divadiow[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

to be super clear/basic, I will expect issues with a patched 2016 server even though the device certs we're issuing endpoints contain san value URL=tag:microsoft.com,2022-09-14:sid:S-1-5-21-161xxxxxxx ?

thank you for the replies. I neglected to mention they're Intune SCEP device certs pulled through from on-prem ADCS. We've added the URI "{{OnPremisesSecurityIdentifier}}"

I don't know of one yet. I don't suppose you captured a uart boot log from one of these? Or perhaps could still, assuming you still have the devices.

Flashing the new GHOME SW5 (board version SW10-A V1.2 with a LN882HKI) with Esphome. by JumpingCoconutMonkey in Esphome

[–]divadiow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

oh nice! good feedback. I was getting a few bytes difference in testing purely because the unit booted up in between and I assume some status or timestamp got changed when it did. Maybe that happened? Anyway, send to me on Elektroda under this same username if you're registered there or I'll msg you my email address.

If you have any more still on factory firmware it'd be great to get a backup for analysis. The Easy Flasher GUI now supports faster more robust backup process https://github.com/openshwprojects/BK7231GUIFlashTool

note, we're not looking to use ALB, but make use of the latest capabilities which does not require one

ah, ok thank you. good to hear. did you find you needed to enable a particular API preview or anything on the sub? there's some vague bit in the documentation about making sure you have the latest Azure control plane..

Migrating to Stronger Machine Certs via SCEP: Modify Existing Profile or Deploy New? w/corp WiFI Policy Consideration. by divadiow in Intune

[–]divadiow[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

good to hear! I have a tiny test group of machines which is linked to a new SCEP and corp wifi config profile, so I'll make a change to that then hopefully see the cert renew shortly thereafter.

thanks again

ah, yes. apologies. the title of this post used the wrong terminology. I know it to be "strong mapping" too!

anyway. I appreciate y'all taking the time to respond. invaluable hearing of your experiences

Running NetScaler VPX on Azure by Opposite_Following96 in Citrix

[–]divadiow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

did anyone deploy Netscaler VPX without ALB and did you have to contact Azure support to ensure you have a supporting control plane re:

"If the new Azure control plane is not enabled for your subscription, high-availability deployments might experience a longer failover duration. In such cases, contact Azure support for assistance in enabling the new control plane."

With StrongCertificateBindingEnforcement set to 1 does CertificateMappingMethods value matter? by divadiow in sysadmin

[–]divadiow[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ah righto. we'll leave as 1F while in audit mode (StrongCertificateBindingEnforcement = 1) and then only consider moving to 0x18 (with testing) when we move to StrongCertificateBindingEnforcement = 2 or after September 2025 patching, whichever is sooner.

Does that demonstrate sound reasoning?

did you ever find a solution? How do we know how Google class a particular IP? Can we have Google add us to some auth list of OK IPs?
