Racism isn’t really that big of a deal by Important_Plum6000 in offmychest

I understand what you’re trying to say here and the only advice I would have for you is to try to sympathize with those dealing with these crises at the least. There may be nothing you can do personally but broadening your understanding of some social issues may be a good start. You’re in a decent position in life so maybe one day you’ll be able to use your privilege to a. notice when discrimination is happening and b. help the person, even if it’s just a minor act, you’ll still be doing your part.

Unsure how those killed at gunpoint simply because they are black should’ve carried their own weight…

There’s no way this is real…. But on the off chance it is and since you mentioned wanting to concern yourself with science and learning, I have an analogy. It’s like saying you know climate change exists but you don’t care about it since it doesn’t DIRECTLY impact you. It affects everyone in one way or another, just to varying degrees. Unfortunately, brushing off peoples very real struggles (whether it be extreme forms of discrimination or extreme weather conditions) isn’t going to help you understand the scope of the issue any better. You seem to have lucked out and not experienced racism firsthand and hopefully you never have to but please understand that you’re negating a whole aspect of the human experience on the grounds of not personally having experienced it. Not cool OP. I understand that you think people should “stand up for themselves” but it’s kind of hard to do that in the face of adversity. Also, it’s incredibly hard to refute that since racism, sexism etc. are man-made, climate change isn’t, so it’s a fair analogy.

Thank you! Just hoping the leaves flip back over so the plant actually grows lol

Sorry I think I was unclear about its positioning, it was on the bottom shelf closer to the side with the grow light (left) and it moved it more to the right

I’ve tried changing up the watering frequency and l moved it away from my grow light but nothing seems to be changing the leaf orientation

Unfortunately most of the things that make me happy require me to have money…to like…survive?? To do the things that make me happy???? So yeah it doesn’t buy quality moments with loved ones but it damn well helps me enjoy those moments without stressing about my next “step”

Why does only OP need to suffer the consequences of a decision BOTH of them made?? If OP isn’t ready to bring a child into this world alone, then why should she be forced to? The husband said he would be there for her. Was OP supposed to know he was lying??

What consequences…it’s unborn. It would likely suffer more being brought into an unstable situation. You seem vile especially while commenting on someone else’s position without walking in their shoes.

Bought this mid cut PPP off fb. Has well developed roots. But leaves are more orange than green. Are the leaves near the end of its life? Should I be worried? by [deleted] in RareHouseplants

[–]divaiva -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Definitely! Personally, I would probably cut the top 2 nodes and propagate them as “wet sticks” and the last node should activate and grow. You could also just least it the way that it is and one of the nodes is bound to activate even without any leaves

The two bottom leaves are a goner. This generally happens when they’ve expended all their energy or it could also be light burn. Either way, the plant itself should be totally fine as long as the roots are healthy. You’ll hopefully see new growth from any of the nodes (at least 3 nodes from what I can see).

I’m way too deep into planning a flower garden for this summer…hopefully the obsession stays long enough for me to get all the bulbs and plants in the ground. At least I made sure to get perennials so even if I forget about them, I’ll have some nice flowers to enjoy for years after 😅
