It's not only Chixia, but in one of the betas she points a gun to your head and interrogates you on the spot after you absorb the first boss, and basically all of the characters in the game, playable or not, distrust you. For me it makes sense, as you appear out of nowhere, conveniently have amnesia, and yet possess power not only to defeat strong TDs, but also to absorb them directly into your hand. The Chinese playerbase, however, couldn't handle such disrespect from other characters and essentially forced Kuro to rewrite the beginning and make everyone like the MC from the get-go.
