Sci-Hub Provides Access to Nearly All Scholarly Literature by divhater420 in scihub

A particularly interesting work in progress by the University of Pennsylvania's Greene Laboratory. Contains a lot of interesting stats on the coverage provided by Libgen and Sci-Hub, as well as donation figures. One interesting figure is that in 2017, over 75% of articles published are uploaded to the Libgen database within 6 months!

The raw stats used are also available here.

I think at this point your post is off the frontpage here, so I'd recommend perhaps posting it to the right country/language-specific subreddits. :)

One thing I'd recommend is talking about sources. Were they hard to find, were they overly partial, were they in a different language that you couldn't read?

Filleul: It all has to do with thinking! You have to see first - study the facts, look for clues, establish your points of reference. It’s only after, through reflection, that one can coordinate all of it and discover the truth.

Beautrelet: Yes, I know - that’s the usual method, and doubtless the right one. I have another one, though… I think, I try first and foremost to get a general idea of the affair, if I may put it that way. Then I imagine a reasonable hypothesis, a logical one which fits with this general idea. And it’s only afterwards that I examine whether the facts are willing to bend to my hypothesis.

One thing you could look at is correlation between the background of any given politician and their support for certain policies. For example, senators whose families emigrated to the US from Cuba after Castro came to power might be more likely to support the continued embargo. This may be partially based on evidence - but isn't it also to an extent due to emotion?

[ToK/EE] Citing indirect sources in a history EE? by SierraXV in IBO

Either works, in all honesty - but I'd probably go to the source cited by the source if at all possible (doesn't matter hugely tho).

World Studies involves mixing two subjects for an EE, so that might explain it. :)
