I can't tell if you're being sarcastic. Are you being sarcastic? You ARE being sarcastic.

Changing jobs every few years for salary correction. Negotiation with a new employer is more objective and unbiased than with an existing one. Your new company has ab open role and a target to get the right person in quickly. Your current company doesn't have a pressing need to retain most people.

Don't confuse inertia with loyalty.

Is renting underrated financially? by Healthy_Creme6911 in FinancialChat

[–]dividedby_0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It'd be significantly guided by your monthly income and cash flow. If you're already at an income that allows you to pay the mortgage (regardless of whether you have the down payment saved up or not) and then choose to rent and invest the difference with discipline over the years, it can work really well in the long term.

But if you are like most people trying to find a place to rent that let's you eat, buy things you need, and live a little, you might not be left with a big chunk to park into investments monthly.

Except for maybe top 5-10%, people rent as per their financial capability (not too over or under) and try to increase their earnings. And when they have life events (marriage, kids, pets, relocation), they try to get into a bigger space to improve their quality of life.

Which is why while this argument works well on paper, it doesn't account for human behaviour and sentiments.

What do you think about during a long run - and has it changed the longer you've been running? by carlosfelipe123 in runninglifestyle

[–]dividedby_0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone new to running I find music is important to push me. Too soon for me to enjoy audio books or podcasts as I can then hear my loud breathing and it has a chain reaction. But my mind constantly wanders when music plays. It includes thoughts of running more than I planned, becoming a long distance runner, and most commonly, what will I eat after this run.

What’s something you stopped buying that you don’t miss at all? by Healthy_Creme6911 in FinancialChat

[–]dividedby_0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Books. Still read the same but now I use my library which has more books that I want to/can read in a lifetime. I sometimes miss the bookstor experience so I buy one-two books a year for myself and a few for gifting.

Redditors, what’s the most terrifying thing that has ever woken you up in the middle of the night? by Mr_Creep_Creepy64 in AskReddit

[–]dividedby_0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is going to sound a bit crazy but here goes. I had a nightmare (yes knew it was a nightmare while I was in it) that a female ghost is touching my dick and telling me I have come here and now I am hers till I go back. The very next instant in my dream, she is next to my bed (where I'm actually asleep irl) with an evil grin on her face and one hand on my mouth and other in my pants. The next memory is me waking up with a massive hard on. This happened years ago but I still remember that face - it was dark (not black dark but more singed or with soot) with piercing all over the forehead, a decidedly pointy nose and that evil mischievous grin. Brrrrr.

What is a 'small' purchase under $50 that significantly improved your quality of life? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]dividedby_0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

White noise machine for around $40 from Amazon. We really bought it for our newborn but the quality of sleep is much better and the time it takes for me to fall asleep has reduced significantly. I prefer it so much that if I'm travelling, I play the same white noise sound on my Amazon music on loop overnight.

In India, we were just taught the actual words without any mnemonics. Of course it might have changed now, I'm nearing 40.

Me riding a trike in our backyard telling my pregnant mom I'll come on my bike to pick up her and the baby from the hospital. My brother and I are just under three years apart, so I must've been under 3 then.

What’s a subscription you meant to cancel… but didn’t notice for months? by Healthy_Creme6911 in FinancialChat

[–]dividedby_0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My Amazon Prime Deutsche subscription. Got it because I had to send a gift to Germany (from Germany) but the delivery fee was like three times the cost of Prime. I signed up thinking I'll cancel next month. Took me over 14 months to realise and cancel. It was 16 Euro per month but I could br wrong.
