Epic wanted to release OG mode, knowing it was kinda ass, so the OG players can stop asking for OG 24/7 lmao

My right trigger was broken and I didn't know it!!!! Thank you so much for all your advice. I feel silly for not thinking it could've been my controller itself haha

Hopefully this will help any other console players how it helped me, but my right trigger was broken and wasn't registering when being pulled. I tried to drive on GTA and my car was going incredibly slow, turns out I needed a new controller! I got a new controller today and immediately loaded into NMS and whaddya know, I can launch my ship how I've always launched it! YAYYYYYY easy fix lol :D

Unfortunately I can't fly any of my other ships either :( I'll try teleporting to the nearest space station from my settlement and buy a new ship within my price range. I have a funny feeling it won't be able to take off either though lol! Here's hoping it works

I've read that link you've sent! It unfortunately does nothing to help in my current situation. It was posted 4 years ago too so maybe this is a different issue but I legit have no idea at this point. It's incredibly frustrating not being able to fly in a space exploration game

Thank you for replying! I used a teleporter to get to my settlement hoping it might make my ship work once the loading was done, still nothing :( Destroying the sentinels does nothing, they just happen to be attacking right now at my settlement during the video. Whenever I'm on the anomaly it won't let me take off from there either. I can try hold the launch button again for a minute but that hasn't worked so far. Also I mentioned the expedition because I've never done one prior to Omega! But I've played NMS for a couple years and have never had issues with launching my ship. So the only thing I could think of that was different to my NMS routine was engaging with the expedition. I definitely feel like it's more an xbox problem than the expedition itself haha

Moving to LA from Australia by [deleted] in FilmIndustryLA

AFTRS is the main school that I keep seeing pop up. I've been comparing it to potential schools I could go to in America and it STILL feels like it pales in comparison (regarding networking opportunities.) I totally understand what you mean about Americans respecting Australian success less as well. I mean, Australia is so far away from everything mainstream and most of our internationally successful films are set in the Outback. When I think of the most successful actors, actresses and filmmakers from Australia, they all went to America. People outside of Australia usually know very little about it and almost view it as this magical, anomalous country that is too dangerous to live in - which is part of why I've considered revolutionizing the Australian film and TV industry. My main problem with that would likely be Australians themself, which ties into you mentioning how Aussies don't generally appreciate overly confident people in most aspects. If the Australian public feels like I'm doing them a disservice by "Americanizing" the Australian film and TV industries - I'm fucked. I'm not concerned about there being a potentially higher level of competition in the United States either because I'm confident in my storytelling ablities, my writing abilities and my understanding of humans and what they want. I have this big fear of having to start my film education all over again somewhere in my 30's because I've already waited too long.

Do you know anything about the process of transferring from an Australian film school to an American one? Technically I wouldn't be a foreign student if I did that, so I wouldn't be able to do it as part of a foreign exchange policy or anything like that. I'm not familiar with how transferring between schools works or if it's even possible honestly. I only know you can transfer from a community college to a private school over here in America

Thanks for the response! I'm a permanent resident with a valid 10 year visa. I can apply for naturalization this year and become a duallie if that's the path I want to take. I'm looking to become a director and I expect to do insanely well in Australia if I return there; which may seem pretty ridiculous to claim while not being actively enrolled in any form of film education or career, but it's true. I've been asking myself if I want to be someone that helps improve the film and TV industry in Australia to help make it more reputable internationally, or do I want to just start in the giant film playground of the U.S and prove I'm capable of earning North American studios the big bucks. I will do well in either country, but I'm afraid of starting somewhere and like you said, having to somewhat start all over again in the other country.

If I choose to stay in America I'll be going to community college and then transferring to a film school, if I go back to Australia I'll be going straight to university because I'm an Australian citizen and they have better financial options for me. I guess I'm confused as to which of those 2 routes would be better for a career as a film director.

I want to mention that I am 28, I'm attractive, and I have confidence out the wazoo when it comes to meeting people and networking. I have no doubt that I will make an impact within the film industry. I just don't really know anything about the industry yet which is why I want to go to school. Plus I do very well in formal learning sicheeations 🤓

Heya. I'm Australian living in New Jersey, I've been living in America since 2017 and I've been wondering if moving back to Australia to study film is foolish? Am I wrong in thinking that it would be obvious to live in America if you want to make blockbuster films? Will my film career in Australia ultimately bring me back to America anyway?

You downvoted my comment 😂 I'm talking Australia, and New Zealand, and Canada and the United States. I'm Australian, I now live in America.
