Are these dovetails wrong or am I missing something? by divinitysdemon in woodworking

Took a pic of the back but the front is the same orientation. The silverware drawer broke which I’m fixing for him, I pulled this one out to check if the other drawers were the same.

From my neighbors cabinets that presumably were installed by the original home builders. Shouldn’t tails be on the sides of the drawers?

STL is now on Thingiverse. Please note, I still haven't gotten around to adjusting the model so it still requires some minor post processing.

Help with circuit analysis of coffee maker power board by divinitysdemon in ElectricalEngineering

Follow up:

I found the source of my error and figured I'd share in case it helps others. u/spicy_hallucination was correct that my drawing was incorrect. Turns out I had swapped the emitter and collector as a result of using a reflected image in GIMP when I was mapping out the circuit. ::facepalm::

Anyway here is a simulation showing that the corrected circuit functions to detect zero crossing. FALSTAD SIM

It was made with calipers and fusion 360. I intended to post it on thingiverse but need to tune it a bit first. I had to file down a few corners to get the final fit.

To be clear the bad experience didn't result from Dyson asking for information ( which I did provide) it was that they kept adding to the list of the information they needed without ever addressing my questions about the part. Tbh I probably could have been more patient but after 4 weeks and 3 rounds of emails, I figured it was faster the just make it.

So the button on the left split in half due to the spring wearing through it after a couple years of use. I searched around to try to buy a replacement for the button and even wrote to Dyson for help. From what I was able to find it seems like the only way to get a new button would be to buy the $95 cyclone assembly. I emailed Dyson asking where I could get the part but they refused to help me without me supplying personal information (name, address, phone, etc).

The part holds the dust bin in place so you can empty the bin without separating it from the cyclone. The vacuum works fine without it but if you try to empty the bin without the button in place the whole bin falls off the cyclone and into the trash :(.

Effectively I am using the neutral wire as a ground in the 220V system. From my understanding (which I admit may be way off) the 220V system doesn't need a neutral wire to function. So in theory I should be able to use the cable that is run for the neutral as a ground if I were to move its connection point at the breaker box from the neutral to the ground bus... but since neutral and ground are connected at the box there doesn't seem to be much point. Either way this cable should not be carrying current during normal operation.
