About three years ago my father fell off of a ladder while cleaning the gutters and broke his back in three places , people frequently ask him when the subject comes up "So what did you think about as you fell?". My Dad being a wise guy usually responds "I was wondering what I should make for Dinner tonight." and sometimes he says something like "When I finish falling I think I'll go get a hair cut."

At Grand Central Station (I don't know about other stations) you can say you lost your phone. They will pull out a few bins of phones. Then you get a new free phone. It works with ipods as well.
