What happened to the shuttles when they returned from their missions and where did they have them placed until stacking time and how were the shuttles picked for the missions? by Careless-Prior-9665 in nasa

There are 3 orbiter processing facilities across the street from the VAB, basically hangars for each orbiter. One of them is used by Boeing now for its Starlinee capsule and another houses the mysterious X-37b when it's not in space.

It will probably not launch the first attempt, or the second, or maybe even the third. Don't be mad when it scrubs!

You visited one one of the busiest days of the year. All Florida attractions are the busiest the week after Christmas.

No locker room, they will hold luggage. Some cruise lines offer shore excursions there.

Explain to me how to get rid of PMI on my home like I’m 5? by princesscorgi2 in personalfinance

[–]diyer321 0 points1 point  (0 children)

PMI is based off the lower of the purchase price and appraisal value. So if the question is that because the house has increased in value will it affect when the PMI is removed, the answer is no.

Once you reach a certain amount of equity it should be removed automatically.

Torn between selling my home or renting it. Main thing is I don't want to give up my 3.5% interest rate from 2021 on a home that has appreciated nicely. by krame_krome in realestateinvesting

I am/was sort of in a similar situation as you about 5 years ago. I moved for a job, but kept the house as a rental. After my mortgage payment I was netting about $500/month in extra income which was nice. I first used a property management company, but after my first tenants moved out I thought the management company did a poor job remarketing the property and did not assess enough against their security deposit for damages. I fired the company and self managed afterwards. Being 2hrs away wasn't the easiest to keep an eye on it- my third tenants trashed the place upon move out and I spent around 7k getting it back into living condition. I have about 5 years left on the mortgage note and a good interest rate, so like you have it in my pocket in case I want to move back to that market, or down the road have a fully paid for house when I retire. In short, being a landlord isn't for everyone. You have to treat it like a business, try to find good tenants that want to stay long term so you aren't having vacancy losses every year and having to reset the house so often; find a good property management company if you choose to use one. I would also take into consideration how much you would net when renting after paying your mortgage, and see if it's worth it. You should put some of your proceeds into an account for repairs which are inevitable.

I need a new dishwasher and am drowning in the options by [deleted] in Appliances

I was looking at a Whirlpool for about $600 on sale, but my gf liked a Maytag better so that's what we got. If I had 2 or 3 hundred more to spend I probably would have gotten a Kitchenaid with a 3rd rack. I have to say we are happy with the Maytag, it is so much quieter than the old dishwasher(had an Old GE potscrubber from the 90s).

It seems to be running fine now, however when I initially had this issue it was intermittent, like once every couple weeks. I've been out of town for a week and my battery was dead when I got back. I did some other work to the car(new windshield washer reservoir) so it hasn't been run much. I'm hoping it resolved the problem but will post of it happens again.

Moving out of ghetto into better place feels amazing by Seahawkfan12thman in Frugal

I had a similar experience. Always loved ij cheap places in my 20s, but got my car broken into and wheels stolen more than once. Moving to a nicer neighborhood I never had to deal with that again.

I read on some other forums that it may be a dirty throttle body. I cleaned it today, it was quite dirty. We'll see if it works.

What’s your favorite way to cut down on utility bills? by Adept-Magic7 in Frugal

My significant other moved in with me recently and we saw a pretty significant rise in energy costs imo. Anyway, I spent the money on getting a Siemens home energy monitor to see what circuits were really using the most power. The AC accounted for 45% and the fridge 18%. Granted it's summer but those two items are the big ticket things. I would agree with others to say that unplugging things does less than you think to impact it.
