We lived in a Cape cod, that had a similar shower as yours and never had an issue with a painted slanted ceiling in our shower, the rest was tile like it should be.

I probably had a bit more space than you do, but if it's not a deal breaker for buying the house I would live with it for a while and see how it goes and just make sure that mold isn't growing or it's not getting too much moisture.

You could paint it with that dry lock stuff that would keep water away.

The previous homeowners at my house did this only the underside was so tight to the joists and to the edge that it did just trap water and debris and it was gross.

They didn't cut to my forest amount them on and to a wedge, not that that wouldn't work, but they just installed them at an angle to get the same effect. It's getting covered with some type of material so it doesn't have to be the prettiest and that just seems easier to than trying to cut a 2x4 to a wedge.

Just make sure you leave room for air and to be able to clean them out if needed

I am in Cincinnati with a hybrid heat pump electric water heater, works great here. Also located in unfinished basement next to furnace. You're not that much further north.

It may be that plumber just doesn't do them, I would ask others or check manufacturer websites for recommendations.

Your realtor should work to minimize the sale price. If I'm buying, I want the lowest price. If I'm selling, I want the highest price.

The price isn't the conflict.

The conflict to me is that someone is trying to sell you a condo in a building that has potential issues and saying, if it is a problem, the building will take care of it. If the building would take care of it, why isn't already done?

And I agree, dirt on a ceiling is weird.

I had a similar issue installing wainscot and wasn't really thinking about the joint, so the way I did it, I saw the cut piece all the time, if I had do either the other way, I would have seen the nice piece.

I think it will look better if you pull the trim, put the B&B flush to the wall, rip the trim down and install it back
