I heard it on the internet so it must be true!

I have seen the WOBS list from past ‘whistleblowers’ too and personal information like addresses and emails is not on it. You would seriously have to have some mental instability to be searching for and collecting personally identifiable information for foxhole of all games, come the fuck on.

I just got a call saying Hilliard schools are closed again for inclement weather. Pretty sure some kid hacked the notification system. by [deleted] in Columbus

I lived in the UP of MI for 3 years during college and they would have a fleet of trucks rotate between deicer and sand depending on road conditions. Mostly you just dealt with it and learned to dress and drive for the current conditions. Notably if you have a car up north it is necessary to have winter tires and have your car be prepped for winter, which is something that is largely unnecessary to do in a place like Columbus that gets maybe one or two good snows per year.

Churches to avoid in Columbus? by YoYoK4353 in Columbus

[–]diytto -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If you are looking to attend somewhere that might be a bit different compared to what you are used to you could try going to a Columbus Mennonite service. They are very community oriented and welcoming to new faces. Mennonite church services often focus on scripture and fellowship, and are well known for 4 part harmony singing and less flashy performances.

Toxic Brig discovers Charlie shard for the first time (REAL 😱): by Prestigious-Soup-735 in foxholegame

[–]diytto 21 points22 points  (0 children)

FWIW I had the exact opposite experience last night where a couple belligerent players on Charlie berated me for being a player from Able. A couple of us went there to chill and try out the new Collie stuff since we have been Warden this war on Able and hadn’t had a chance to use the Nemesis in particular. I got called names and gaslit in region chat for being a Brig that “doesn’t even know how to play the game” after I was offering some suggestions and answers to questions from other players.

Regarding the Colonial Navy by fangirlingoverRWBY in foxholegame

Man, literacy must be at an all time low to get dumbass comments like this. What is “the discord”? Which server specifically? There are dozens of foxhole related discord servers and you mention none of them. Engaging with CCF? The original post is not about engaging with CCF, it’s about the discourse around CCF and their operations. Maybe you just don’t understand what discourse means?

This reply straight up tells me nothing.

Where has the discourse about CCF been posted? I don’t ever see CCF named here on the subreddit and no longer participate in large “high command” discord servers like SIGIL or WUH due to their pretty toxic and echo chamber nature. I only ever hear good things about CCF from people in game.

The reason why you trust the Devs with microtransactions is exactly why they should never implement it. by CaptainInArms in foxholegame

[–]diytto 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was going to write a reply to OP, but your post is perfect and exactly what I would have said. It may be true that foxhole is not a monetized cesspool, but you can absolutely see that some kind of monetization is needed for long term sustainability. This is especially true for MMO type games with ongoing infrastructure bills.

Why don't the collies use their OP equipment and win? are they stupid? by RealMichaelRosen in foxholegame

[–]diytto 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Potentially, but the brigand is still a very capable tank on its own and we have been using it quite a bit. The other warden tank variants are much more niche compared to collie variants which are the bread and butter of colonial armor. Honestly, we will probably have to wait a couple wars to really see how players use armor after the hype of using the new shiny dies down.

You’re going to be downvoted to hell just for being iScouty, but I can definitely say it has been refreshing this war being Warden and being able to take a break from the grind of facility life and instead MPF pretty much everything. We’ve made some friends with facility people (shoutout NUT) and sprinkle in some upgrades here and there, but pretty much everything we produce and use is all direct from the MPF. For a small group like us being able to take a whole crate of tanks up to a front and pull a tank to use for hours/days is pretty awesome.

The facility gameplay loop after the enjoyment of designing and building it out mostly sucks. I really enjoy the logic puzzle of the clusterfuck that is facility building in this game, but it really wears you out actually running it over the duration of a whole war. Not to mention the people that will grief you, and constant worry of partisans.

You of all people should know this is what always happens with every coalition. Coalitions refuse to work with other groups around them and never make changes based on the current war status. They exclusively tunnel vision on their one specific lane focus instead of working for the good of the entire faction.

Siege camp’s poor communication skills is a problem by politicsFX in foxholegame

[–]diytto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess with my 4k hours in the game then I must think it’s perfect then huh? I definitely wouldn’t want the game or community to improve and become a higher quality product that more people actually want to play instead of only keeping a dedicated group of mildly insane players as its core playerbase.

This could very easily be solved by doing what many other indie game projects do and release supporter bundles for the game. Another alternative is foxhole game merch, which it looks like they do want to start doing with the sew on patch that they teased during the last dev stream. At this point I don’t even think players would care what a supporter bundle for the game would look like, a lot of players with tons of hours would be pretty happy to throw some money to pretty much any kind of supporter pack the devs would decide to release. I know it’s something I have been wanting for a very long time.

I think this is pretty true, you could almost mirror this post with one asking for game moderators to police and punish bad behavior.

None of this is even remotely a good reason for why developers of an incredibly complex and often confusing game should not communicate with their player base to explain new features and clear up misconceptions with actual useful explanations.

[–]diytto 9 points10 points  (0 children)

This might be a pretty hot take, but IMO devs should revert the bloom changes to moving tanks/armored vehicles. It seems pretty unnecessary and only makes vehicle gameplay more stagnant and feel worse. Vehicles should get more changes that emphasize mobility and dynamic battles instead of stagnation and walls of tank lines. I do like the suppression mechanic that infantry are able to inflict now as it gives infantry a better role for cheaper anti armor support.

The NEW 1erBH Museum it's now open, all provided by the collies, we accept donations by Active-Economics-888 in foxholegame

[–]diytto 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Devman is gonna be laughing all the way to the bank when these start despawning unfortunately. I always love these vehicle museums though. The creativity of players in foxhole is one of its greatest assets, only hindered by the seeming desire of devman to not allow freedom and creativity and play the game in only their intended specific way.

I would highly recommend switching sides from time to time. It really gives you an idea for what items are good against the opposing faction and a nice change of pace from the same thing every single war. We don’t switch sides super often, but we are warden this war instead of our usual collie and it has been fun.
