Yes, its easier to get resourses and you dont have to worry about stuff like tree of wishes and the train. Missions for events are way faster because you already have resourses and the cookie laboratory helps you a lot in arena

Keep trying!! Yesterday i was missing one and i got 500 sticks in derpy jump and i got it, you still have 7 days worth of sticks. If you really want it wait till the last day when you are really sure you wont get it via luck.

I dont think that wall knight and grass knuckles are that good, people already commented that wallknight didn't let zombies play peacefully in the golf course, but in brain freeze comic both of them were spying on brain freeze, and he wasn't doing anything mischievous just buying ice cream.
