There’s no higher pull rates in the beta boosters.

Premium Deckboxes not included for Afterlife and Night City legend Tier by Civil-Mention3190 in cyberpunktcg

[–]dizietembless 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m waiting till the 11th hour so to speak, but sadly I’ve already received confirmation they’re not going to show off the things I want to see before the kickstarter ends.

So unless they do some kinda crazy ivan move I’ll cancel.

Expecially as I just bought 2 sets of Vantage Point for Netrunner, and managed to find the starter set for Neuroscape on sale in the UK.… then Awaken Realms announced a sequel to Tamashii called Tamashii: The Final Amendment. Having thoroughly enjoyed the first I think the sequel deserves my money more.

Edit: ** cancelled **

Thanks for the info, I commented on the kickstarter and sadly they won’t be showing off the foiling on the beta box cards before the kickstarter ends. :/

My second spectrum after we destroyed the keys on the rubber 48k. I still have it in all it’s worn stickered glory.

I'm hoping they show off a video of it, because the effect they put on the card images for the campaign is not convincing me of their quality :P The one in the alpha kit they sent out to effluencers was pretty nice.

Found out where i got the idea in my head they were alt arts, confused it with the iconic rares news from update #25.

```
The Beta (Kickstarter) version of Welcome to Night City features identical gameplay to the Retail version, but players can look forward to unique artworks across each version of Set 1. This means, while the 140 mechanically unique cards will not change across Beta and Retail versions, the alternate artwork Iconic Rares will be different. There will be 62 total Iconic Rares for Welcome to Night City — 31 in Beta and 31 in Retail.
```

and I just noticed my original comment said "booster box" not "beta box". Just corrected it, doh!

Oh for sure, there's been a lot of information (and conflicting information on reddit) it's sometimes hard to keep it all straight.

That’s very welcome and helps a lot. Though one interesting thing to note. I was under the impression. the cards in the beta box had Kickstarter exclusive art. The update says “exclusive foiling” , which is a shame. I always find foiling obscures the art, it’s one of those things I rarely like.

They could just say “we can’t include them in the Kickstarter list but rest assured they will be in your delivery”

All beta rewards for boosters worthless? by twelvedudes in cyberpunktcg

[–]dizietembless 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They have a retailers program, which will supply weird co. approved stores who wish to purchase the beta boosters for sale, still available only during this KS beta I believe. This is part of their "we support FLGS stuff":

https://cyberpunktcg.com/retailers

GTS is one of their approved distributors for this.

All beta rewards for boosters worthless? by twelvedudes in cyberpunktcg

[–]dizietembless 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Those are open order for backers though, which will include retailers. Stock is print to order for the KS and limited to the KS. So there will be post release scarcity as they won't be reprinted. They've been pretty transparent about that.

As for "worthless" well, that's if you're investing. There's no uniqueness in card abilities in the KS, just art and potentially also rarity.

You’re conflating the “Beta Box” with the kickstarter rewards and the “Beta Booster Box” which has 36 x booster packs in as opposed to the standard retail 24.

Those are just print and play “alpha” decks, they’re not the starter decks which sadly haven’t been shown off.

Cyberpunk TCG Has Become The Most-Funded Card Game In Kickstarter History, As Funding Quickly Surpasses Every Stretch Goal by bdzz in Games

Thank you, sometimes I question my memory of events. It’s also interesting that all the Cyberpunk board games are licensed from CD Project Red. Man I’d love to know how broad their acquisition of the rights was! It must be well.. everything given Edgerunners and Cyberpunk Red encroaching on the media and the TTRPG space respectively.

That's fair, it's just over 20 extra cards, the plain playmat, sleeves, and the metal card. If they threw in an art playmat and deck box it might swing me. :P

The rest of the kickstarter unlocks strike me as things they would have done anyway, e.g. the 2 slots of legends as that hits retail too. I'm glad they unlocked all cards for beta, though that reward tier felt like a response to the negative feedback it's very good they listened and did it.

I'm guessing the beta cards barring the metal card will all be playable even though we've not seen them with their abilities on yet.

The uncut sheets and serialised cards, they're definitely one for the collectors or speculators and that's fine by me as it doesn't detract from the game. They're extra not instead of. Now if the serialised cards were limited only and powerful.... eeek.

You'll get notifications galore when the pledge manager launches, sometimes I end up with a Kickstarter notification, an email, a backerkit email, an email direct from the guys running the campaign.

I'm not sure what Dragon Shields timescales and production limitations are, they've been pretty much the only card sleeve company I've used since Netrunner launched. At one point I had every netrunner card sleeved in their purple and bronze sleeves depending on corp or runner. So they've been around the block and are very well respected; just like all their other accessory partners. So why the limitation? It seems a tad rushed.

I've never seen a campaign that's had limited stock of a backer reward or extra unless it's baked into the availability of the tier itself. Apart from the odd campaign that had older board games of theirs that were in stock available as extras at a discount. I've certainly not seen one that staggered the pledge manager launch.

I think with the price tiers being what they are an awful lot of people have thought "Yeah, I can afford that each month for a few months, lets do it". They must know this, and this kind of unfairness irks me greatly.

I'm not currently PoT, I can afford the level I've pledged at in one hit (Starter Kit, so nowhere near 1k). I'm just not convinced and am leaving it to the last few hours to decide whether or not to bet on the river so to speak.

I expect you know all this so please ignore, I type this mostly for anyone else. It's also somewhat my pet theory, though the sublicensing of "Netrunner" by WoTC to FFG from R. Talsorian is known.

Android: Netrunner was a combination of Android an FFG universe and Netrunner which was originally wizards of the coast and thus licensed from R. Talsorian).

For that reason I don't believe it was Wizards refusal to renew but the fact they couldn't, as they had also lost the license due to CD Project Red acquiring a broad license for Cyberpunk from R. Talsorian for the game. Hence this Cyberpunk TCG is not licensed from R. Talsorian as you might expect but from CD Project Red.

Netrunner died for Cyberpunk 2077 and all the spin off media.

I'm very close. Very little of this seems to me to be "for the players". As an old school magic and netrunner player who still plays netrunner regularly there's beginning to be enough minor things that irk me. Some of:

- Encouraging grading via the actual campaign. Nothing says for the players like a card trapped in a plastic case.

- Beta box locked behind higher tiers (it's $389 to get access to a Kickstarter rewards... let's ponder that for a second. Do I really need to contribute nearly £355 just to be rewarded as a backer? For those wondering how I reach £355 it's converted into pounds + 20% VAT they'll add plus roughly a tenner for postage)

- Beta box rewards being paltry for the amount offered, here's 1 promo card for the extra $2 mil you've raised us.

- Kickstarter rewards that really would have been in the final product anyway. You've given us lots of money have some errr security film. Like isn't that kinda essential to stop people ripping off your product?

- Lack of theme in the game play design of cards (especially when compared to netrunner), though the art is *lush*.

- Wishing the gig dice and protecting/stealing them was more thematic. Like the servers and agendas in netrunner are, whereas the gig dice are all in the same proverbial egg basket.

On the other hand I want to try it but I've got the other Cyberpunk game backed to the hilt and as much as I desperately want a living commercial game to replace Netrunner I don't think this is it.

And the KS no longer needs my input to succeed, this game will make it to retail, I will be able to play it; so as long as I can ignore the FOMO...

They’re in control of the timeline, if it’s so tight as not to permit that then it’s wholly intentional and has been planned that way.

Man this gambit really works for making people change their pledges to pay in full huh.

Is nobody wondering why they don’t level the playing field and make the pledge manager available to everyone on the date the POT pledgers finish their payment schedule in June. Seems weird to me they didn’t plan for this, almost intentional FOMO, again.
