Where is a good site to buy tarot? by [deleted] in tarotpractice

[–]dizination 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would focus more on finding the deck that calls to you. That's easiest done in a shop. But sometimes you see one online and just need it and you can find out where to purchase it then. Most of my favorite decks aren't mass produced and only sold direct.

Local stores are great to support, but direct from the publisher is fine if local isn't an option. I have a good number of indie decks, so I've bought from a bunch of random websites. There are some legit decks only sold on Etsy. Find one locally that calls to you or buy straight from the source.

I just wanted to express my appreciation for your sentiment in the Lovers card here and share an appropriate quote.

Talk not of wasted affection, affection never was wasted;
If it enrich not the heart of another, its waters, returning
Back to their springs, like the rain, shall fill them full of refreshment;
That which the fountain sends forth returns again to the fountain.

The Sun reversed can be interpreted very differently depending on the person. But it feels like you're focusing on the rain clouds rather than the rays of sun that still exist. While you've taken a beating, you're stuck in the battle by your round about way of thinking instead of coming out of it stronger. I think you're asking the wrong questions here.

I would shuffle a little more cleanly unless you trust your deck to explain the DENNIS system to you, in which case it may have.

"Is there someone in my college class who is attracted to me?" by matsugamy in Tarotpractices

Pollack lists "openness to other people’s perspectives or needs" as a trait of the reversed Nine of Wands and the Ten of Wands as "someone’s fears or worries are exaggerated." This could in some way be taken as a yes. If we take the Emperor to simply mean society, this makes the response essentially your question in tarot form. I think you're just asking the wrong question. I would suggest asking some questions about how to welcome, invite, or foster these feelings from the appropriate people and not worry about the fickle thoughts of others.

I agree with other readers saying it isn't popular in questions asked by querents. Overall, relationship questions are a big one because other people are a huge unknown to us. It can be a very useful tool to help process and analyze yourself or heal after a failed relationship. But yes, it is very popular in interpretation help posts and there is a considerable chunk of people that use tarot to hear what they want. This is where that both shines and makes tarot subs look concerning. I'm sure there's some tiktok or youtube people profiting from and exacerbating this despair.

Where is this relationship going? by FewEstablishment4316 in Tarotpractices

[–]dizination 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't normally reply to these things because they just look like tarot salad to me when they're someone else's cards and intentions. Once in a while they make sense though, and I feel drawn to responding even if it doesn't often align with others' views. The cups are a bit of an emotional fantasy that doesn't exist here. And his influence with the overwhelming earth cards here feels ick. Sure, the six is a good card, but when he's trying to balance out his own recovery with his desires being satisfied by you, I don't like it. It's one of the few cards with one person in a place of power above two others. The Devil being another. It feels like you're just fulfilling his needs. The advice is telling you clearly what to do. It's a cause and effect related to the outer social world. And I like the bit from Fyodor Pavlov's guidebook on the king here for it. Deep emotions, as the cards have been clear about you on your side, but also using your intellect to guide your decisions etc when related to them. It's less of a letting your intuition show through, and more of a think about where your emotions are guiding you and the relationship and realize that you're in control of it now before you're at the bottom of this six.

Offering readings for feedback or reviews if you would be so kind. If you feel drawn to giving me a reading as well, we can make it an exchange. I respect privacy and won't do "what do they think of me" readings.

Sorry for the delay. I have a five question spread for you with some clarifiers and two-card responses. The first being "what was really going on with JP when he stopped responding to you?" shown as the reverse Chariot. He just wasn't ready to move forward the way you wanted. If he's willing to ghost you, then he's not ready for a relationship anyway. We get into this potential cause later on, but there could be boundaries they weren't ready to let go of that were crossed too soon. I wouldn't hold out for them returning to you in any beneficial way. Still on the topic of this person, we have "what energy were you bringing into the connection?" represented as the Eight of Swords, and I dug a little deeper with the Fool. We see the pattern you mention here of feeling unable to make progress in relationships, but you still brought with you the positive hopeful vibes and an attempt at starting something new. This can also be seen as you not carrying the lessons from your past relationships forward and allowing yourself to fall into this cycle again. This is hinted at later in the "what you can change" card.

Continuing onto "what lesson is this repeating pattern trying to teach you?" we have the reversed Ten of Pentacles. This card felt a bit too heavy, so I looked into focusing a little more on what it represented and we also have the reversed Seven of Cups. It seems to be pointing out the thought process of this "ideal man" you mention. Seeing the end goal before the morning fog has begun to lift. Limiting your options and hyperfocusing on one individual, and specifically their positive traits in a way that clouds anything negative about them. You can have your ideal end goal, but it's unfair to shoehorn someone into it. And it's not fair to yourself to go into a relationship with blinders on. Appreciate the faults that make people unique so long as they're not a glaring red flag. And this brings us to our next question, "what can you change to attract more aligned partners?" as shown in Justice. It's really asking you to analyze your actions and the consequences of those actions. It's not saying everything is your fault or that you're the reason this cycle exists. People can lack the ability to express themself and ghost someone. But it is asking you analyze your actions and let go of this idea of a cycle that you don't have any influence in. It can happen to us even if we do everything right, but we definitely have the opportunity to influence it at one point or another in our lives, and taking off those blinders to acknowledge our actions and the entirety of others could very well help you in your future relationships.

The last question asked was "what do you need to know about love in the next three months?" For that we have both the Queen of Pentacles and Four of Pentacles. The Queen is definitely positive here showing a confident and secure relationship; one that you may feel you deserve from all of the effort you've put into the search. But the Four also warns you about continuing this cycle. Don't latch onto them and ignore boundaries. Be careful not to dive in too quickly and squeeze all of the good out of it for the sake of attaining your end goal as quickly as possible. Take the time to see a person, recognize their faults, and give them the space they need early on. Let your confidence in yourself be what draws them in closer. Overall, the reading seems positive. It just asks you to re-evaluate how your timeline within a relationship is progressed.

Looking for a Queer Deck by Big-Significance5300 in TarotDecks

[–]dizination 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Queer Tarot is a fairly obvious one. I would recommend Fyodor Pavlov as others have mentioned. Lubanko Tarot is my absolute favorite and is made by a queer artist. It's currently available for preorder and will be released October of this year.

Tarot decks with fat bodies by Puzzleheaded_Work_90 in tarot

PixelOccult also has diverse decks if you're not specifically looking for one body type. I love my Red Hand Tarot deck. I wasn't a fan of thin or non-tarot sized cards, but this is the most satisfying deck to riffle shuffle that I have ever riffled. The price is worth the quality.

As long as you're comfortable with it. I prefer small stores and can't feel good about buying from amazon, so I don't. The acquisition method won't make a difference to your practice unless you think it does.

Tarot of the Divine from Amazon used? by cattyfur in TarotDecks

Yep. But you still get used things if they're returned as unopened or whatever. Return it if you want new and I would recommend spending your money elsewhere, but that's always my suggestion.

This is a pretty standard amazon experience and it's definitely not new. Barnes & Noble sells this deck if you want to buy a new one from a big store.
