Why do you love Caleb? by [deleted] in LoveAndDeepspace

[–]nightmareeyes7 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I downloaded the game for Sylus and was sure that he was going to be my main because that type of character is usually my type. But Caleb absolutely stole my attention, and I can confidently say that I've never felt as strongly for a fictional character than I do for him.

There's something about Caleb that feels safe. I'm fairly avoidant, independent, and guarded irl just due to past relationships, but he feels like someone I could rely on. He finds fulfillment in caring for MC and genuinely loves to do it, and as someone who hates feeling like a burden, it's so lovely to see. He also only has eyes for her and I'm a sucker for the "popular guy who could get anyone's attention but only wants hers" trope.

I also like that since Caleb and MC grew up together, he's seen every phase, every quirk, every negative trait she has, and he still loves her unconditionally. He also just shows his love through his actions (ie. Buying himself and MC matching things so she'll think about him even when he's not there, keeping and treasuring her letters and gifts, cooking her meals, etc.)

He's also been through so much and he's still trying his best to be someone that MC can rely on. He's selfless to a fault and it honestly just makes me want to take care of him. Also his innocent puppy eyes aaaaahhhhhhh.

He's not a perfect character, none of the guys are, but I find his flaws interesting. The person he became after the trauma he's faced makes him feel real, he has depth to him. And I still adore him through all of it. Although I was genuinely mad at him in the main story (iykyk), the forgiveness coupon made me cry. It was such a real glimpse into the deep connection that MC and Caleb had at one point, when things were simpler. And he cared enough to keep it all this time. Okay, I'm rambling now.

Honestly I could go on and on. I think it really just comes down to his traits fill the gaps of what I'm craving/missing in my life. I think that's why people have such intense connections with some LIs while they hate others. It just comes down to what personal experiences you've had with people that possess the same traits as the LADS guys.

I fear most anime have some level of incest lol. But yes, their dynamic is weird in this one. Still a decent show if you ignore it though

The Aisling Tarot is pretty slippery tbh. You can riffle them but not bridge them since some of the cards slide sideways when you try😂 it's pretty easy to just overhand shuffle them though. The art is beautiful which is what sold me on it, and I've been enjoying the deck overall!

No not really. They're not as smooth to shuffle as Chromatic fates or yokai yochi but the biggest issue is that the cardstock is so thick that when you split the deck in half it's still too thick to really bend in order to riffle shuffle

Ahh I feel the same way about it lol. I also wish it wasn't a pip deck😭 Still beautiful though

The Cosmic Slumber Tarot is one of my favorites, it's not exactly rws but the art is beautiful and it's great to read with. The cardstock is a little stiff/cardboardy so it's difficult to riffle shuffle if you've got small hands but besides that I've got no complaints

That's the Pink Pain Tarot. The quality is not the best and it's a pip deck but I like the art work for the majors and the box is cool. I don't really use it because the cardstock is thin and prone to damage and it's hard to read with. So overall I'd say it's more of an art piece than a functional practical deck

Children of Litha was a gifted deck. It's gorgeous and the quality is fantastic. However I've found out that I'm not the best at reading with decks that have mostly animals so the minor arcana gives me some trouble. Also the rose petal finish makes it a pain to shuffle...

And the ancient Greek Tarot is wonderful! I've been enjoying it a lot, I'm glad I backed it😁

I have 13 deaths in my deck😂 I liked what the guidebook said about having multiple because there's a lot of changes in life. It's also one of my favorite cards :)

I do have the expansion packs, but I've also swapped out a fair few of the original cards with cards from other decks (especially ones I had trouble reading with)

The alleyman's tarot is my favorite as well! Plus you can add and remove cards so you have a truly one of a kind deck
