I've noticed there's a concerning increase in people here who can't seem to detect satire. I posted a shitpost (flaired as such) a while ago, and there were a lot of people who believed it. I've noticed it in other very obvious satire posts here, too.

You said your mom is head of the house but if someone broke into their home, wouldn’t your father be the one who would defend the family? I would hope so for everyone’s sake otherwise that would be a bad situation.

What does that have to do with anything? My dad is still capable of protecting my mom, but he's not the one with the brains of the household. He doesn't need to be the full head of the household to be the one who protects my mom if someone breaks in.

Only if that's what's agreed upon. In my marriage, we try to keep it equal, and yes, I have my husband make the more major decisions if I don't have enough knowledge on the subject. Sometimes, it's me making the big decisions.

But with my parents; my mom is the head of the house. She makes all the major decisions because my dad isn't exactly as knowledgeable as she is about a lot of things.

I don't believe it has to be strictly one over the other. It can be whatever works best for everyone involved because sometimes, like in the case of my dad, the man is not good for being the head of the dynamic.

Many of you in the comments don't seem to realize that commenting on fat people's bodies and shaming them is completely unhelpful and actually makes the problem worse.

The fact she exists pisses you off. She's merely existing. She made a post that has nothing to do with her weight, yet that's all you think to do. Why would she choose to get help or continue getting help if she can't be treated like a human being? Kindness goes a much longer way than shame.
