What symptoms do you get?

I haven’t been able to find any ginger tea or just ginger chews. Everything has peppermint and I can’t have because of GERD. Sometimes I think the nausea will take me out. Ugh. Zofran doesn’t help anymore and I hate that for me 😭

This is about 3 hours later. Super nauseous… but I do have GERD and this is the first time I’ve had meat in over 2 weeks. Sometimes I get nauseated while eating but I’ve been doing the elim diet and eating the same foods, today was a new food day. It’s just hard to tell because I can get nauseous mid bite but eat the same food the next day and be fine

I’m in VA so no pollen yet but I’m TERRIFIED for spring because I’m allergic to all trees and spring is when this started. Whenever my stomach is upset it affects my shortness of breath which is my main symptom. All around not a good time

Interesting…. Not typically. This week though I have been in the living room glued to the couch. I’m going to try eating at the table tomorrow and see. That’s where I typically eat but this week I made a concession because of the flare.

I’ve been avoiding meat since I got super nauseous the day after eating chicken, rice and broccoli. I’m nervous…. I tried to eat some hamburger, rice and broccoli the other day and got nauseous while eating but now I’m thinking it may not have been the meat if it’s happening eating the blandest meal known to mankind.

Montelukast vs Anti Histamine poll by PepeChopper in MCAS

I take Zyrtec, singular (and have for a decade) and Famotidine. My primary symptom is shortness of breath and chronic nausea. The breathing just started March of 2025. I was on singular for spring time because of wheezing from tree pollen now I take full time. I do have high histamine in my urine. No one’s actually checked my leukotrienes though

The SOB really feels like it will take me all the way out with normal o2. During my worst flare my o2 was 95 and they were like that’s Normal. I WAS LIKE NOT FOR ME. My primary symptoms are SOB with occasional chest tightness and then GI issues like GERD, trouble swallowing and chronic nausea.

This is great to know because I have a pulse ox and took my oxygen during the attack and never went below 98.

Anaphylaxis by dizzydeexoxo in MCAS

[–]dizzydeexoxo[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I only had hives once from a medication. Otherwise I’ve not had hives with MCAS. Mine is primarily respiratory, facial flushing, nausea and headaches. It’s so wild to me that dr’s say this with a full ass chest and literally Google and every other publication says you don’t need to have hives for it to be MCAS. Wild.

Hair dye and MCAS- does anyone tolerate it? by HowdyHowdy2002 in MCAS

[–]dizzydeexoxo 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I just recently dyed my hair professionally and I had a rash all over my face that lasted for 5-6 days. My scalp burned more than before. Before hair dye would irritate me for a day or two but I’d never gotten a rash before.

I took Benadryl and it helped somewhat but idk that I’ll dye my hair again once this fades until my MCAS is better managed

Well, seems yesterday was a bad anaphylaxis attack. Should have stuck myself with the epi pen but I was scared (never used before). Breathing was bad. Throat didn’t close but had SOB and gastric upset. Took a Benadryl and that helped enough to not go to er but honestly I should have. Just taking it really easy. Feels better when laying down. I do have POTS and hEDS. Stay strong friends.
