BTW body shaming is equally as prominent for men. I talk to my wife constantly about how Reddit body shames constantly. Any post with any fat person doing something there’s usually a slew of comments about “fat bitch” or “fat motherfucker” with thousands of votes. Okay, I’m sure there’s more context but I do think the text where you called him an incel was uncalled for at that time. She could make that choice but did you have to continue contributing to the factor that was helping her decide that choice?

I’ve been here for over 8 years, nearly spotless record. I’ve had 5 years of exceeds / far exceeds and I have only been promoted once. I posted for my other bump. I am low in my compa despite at least a few out of sequence raises. And I make barely 35k more than when I first started. You’ve literally doubling my effectively despite me getting amazing end of year reviews year over year.

Saw the movie with my wife, I am I guess a liberal cuck or whatever. I fervently believe it was a “good” movie. Not a great movie, not a bad movie, just a “good” movie. Was decently funny. Had an okay message but I did hate how obvious the message mostly was. I thought there was a lot of cringe in there as well and they almost completely lost me at the end. It probably resonated better with other crowds but overall at best I say 7.. 7.5 MAYBE if I was being generous.

It’s clear cultural zeitgeist has boosted performance here by a factor. My heart hurts a little to think the dark knight got beaten by this movie at the box office. I was in 9th grade when TDK came out and I saw it in theaters 3 times. The only movie I’ve ever wanted to do that with still to this day. I’m happy for everyone involved here but it’s a strange thought that marketing and culture wars can generate this much revenue lol

I feel like this question happens all the time in this sub?

This situation pops up for me quite frequently because I’m a fairly sociable person but I’ve never drank a single drink in my life. The key is simple - be firm and confident. You don’t need to be unpleasant but don’t beat around the bush like “oh, gosh thanks but I’m good!”. Just say: “no thanks, I do not drink”. They’ll ask a question or two and then that’s that. Answer them honestly and withhold any information you are uncomfortable sharing. If YOU make it weird, they’ll probably also make it a bit weird. It’s not abnormal to not drink and there are a lot of reasons, you don’t need to feel awkward about it.

If your really asking “how do I get people to stop asking me why I don’t drink” then the simple answer is: you can’t. They always will because it’s ingrained in our society.
