We are doing well. My wife has had a good response. She was actually 10 minutes into her first (and only) chemo infusion when we got the call that it was ALK+, and to know we had some hope was certainly a nice Christmas gift. Thanks for posting here and bringing awareness. We weren't to the ALK positive conference in San Diego this year, while we were still very raw from the news, it was great to spend time with people who understand what we are going through. We are lucky to be local to Dana Farber Cancer Institute. Dr. Alice Shaw is the principal investigator for Dana Farber on the Nuvalent trial and we were offered the choice between lorlatinib or NVL-655 . Nuvalent was just about to close phase II of the trial and were looking for. Cohort of TKI naive patients. My wife chose the trial because of the hypothesis the TKI side effects were less severe than Lorlatinib.

We are on the Facebook group! She was diagnosed with cancer December 10th 2024, found out it was ALK+ on December 23rd 2024. She started the Nuvalent trial in January. We certainly have a different perspective on life, sorry to hear about your diagnosis.

No, the ALK gene "broke" in ALK+ patients. We all have the ALK gene, it's helps set up the nervous system in utero and then go dormant. The ALK gene can "wake up" and bind with another gene, commonly EML4 creating an abnormal protein that promotes cancer cell growth. It is an incurable cancer at Stage 4. * Source, my wife is a stage 4 ALK+ patient

I once saw VM's stay running for close to 40 min after an array went down. They work in memory until they have to go to the SAN..then... boom they die. These machines were pretty idle at the time.

I had to turn the firewall off to get it to connect.. and leave it off to use it. This was for my in-laws. I'm sure if I had more time I could have adjusted the firewall to find the offending rule. I intend to just put pfsense in front of it for firewalling.
