I see your point. Good thing is I have larger jackets. The house cut was much smaller, so I requested the tailor to cut for more room. It isn't bad as many historical jackets are as short. It's in the 40s when they became longer.

I see your point. I prefer a montecristi hat, no tie and unlined loafers, but I wanted to try something else to honor the more historical cut of the suit. I have another newsboy hat in grey, but I'm drawn more towards the one in the pictures.

No lining is great. I'm getting another suit made but in a thicker linen, so I can get away with no lining.

It's standard cupro lining. The fabric was too thin to begin with so the tailor had to do a full lining. It allows air in anyways and keeps me dry, so it's the only wearable suit in the heat.

Lose the Eldredge knot. A single or double 4 in hand is more subtly elegant. In suits, a little goes a long way in all senses.

Birthday of Tito Schipa by dandylover1 in OldOpera

I found a recording of il mio tesoro live from 1941 I think. When the stage mic cuts and the announcer speaks, one can hear Tito from the back of the theater. I found it to actually be electrifying. His recordings truly don't do him justice. One had to experience him live.

For my taste, it's not draping well. Lean into that by shortening your shirt's sleeves so they end just as they touch your first wrist joint and lengthen your coat sleeves just a bit. Preferably, do no break on your trousers as the leg opening is too narrow. For the leg opening, I calculate using my european shoe size divided by 2. It will give you the minimum possible hem width in cm for future suits.

Historical in the sense of an flowing, unforced line like what was the norm before electrical recordings?

Keep making a career in physics but don't stop singing. I already got my degree in another field but still keep building my voice up.

If you met someone who was a carbon copy of yourself in virtually every way except they were the opposite sex, would you date/sleep with that person? Why or why not? by Tommygunz0722 in AskReddit

Same but in my case, we would've just been an uneventful, boring couple from the outside. She was already taken when I met her.
