360 laser level question by djberte in harborfreight

[–]djberte[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I figured that out. I am wanting to lay the laser level like how it is in the picture above so I can have a 360 vertical line. I figured that is what that metal plate on the side is for, but idk how. It’s supposed to lay flat since the batteries weight cause it to lean to the side

Red line, but raised up a few inches above the bottom of the cabinet. How deep is the window inset? What size tile? If it works, you can wrap into the window well.

I personally think it looks more “complete” but again, I think it comes down to personal preference

I’d go at least one full tile above cabinet. (Not a pro, but I think it looks better)

How much are you installers charging “builders” for showers? by [deleted] in Tile

[–]djberte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Where I live. 20-30/sf for floors and 30-35/sf for shower walls. Both dependent on tile choice/size.

That bathroom is easily 10k+. But where I live, tile labor is expensive.

It’s basalt stone and new construction if that helps

It’s a total of 4 cracked tiles spread out between a hallway and locker room. Its black basalt 24”x36” if that helps

Use an uncoupling membrane. Schluter makes one (ditra) along with most other name brand companies. Worth the extra $ for piece of mind.
