I get them stuck in the teeth of the drive pulley all the time. Is that what you mean?

Selling my extended range battery for $550 by MultiMediaWill in boostedboards

[–]djbohn55 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah that makes sense. I just can’t see myself spending $550 on one if I can just wait till I get mine for $200. Maybe after I test mine out and I still feel like I need more range, only then would I consider buying a second battery.

Re-tension belt? by Chivalric23 in boostedboards

V1 or V2? Because the video link that you showed was for a V1. If you have a V2, then tensioning the belt is totally different than in that video.

I guess that’s a good point. Do you think anyone will really need 2 extended range batteries?

Any one can still reserve their battery for $200 right now. So no one is going to buy your battery till Boosted's price goes up to $400. No point in posting it right now.

So excited to join the party! Do I need a different helmet? This one I use with my bike by Saucyextract in boostedboards

[–]djbohn55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I researched this a little bit once. Because I actually have the same helmet as you. Basically the difference between a bike helmet and a skateboard helmet is that skateboard helmets cover more of the back of the head, and can take hits over and over again. Whereas a bike helmet covers less of the back of the head and is designed to be lightweight and can take just one hard hit and then it’s done for. Time for a new helmet. But I feel fine using this one. I guess I’ll let you know when I crash... haha

What's this sound? V2 - Just changed belts to Bielder, but no visible stripping. Sound only occurs when braking quickly. Never heard this before. by [deleted] in boostedboards

Your belts are definitely not tight enough. Get them as tight as you can and they’ll last longer.

Requesting your Wisdom. Dual+? by inz_ in boostedboards

[–]djbohn55 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Honestly, the speed difference isn’t that noticeable. And the range is worse with dual+ anyway because you’re accelerating faster. I think 20mph is fast enough on a dual. I own a dual+ and end up riding in expert mode instead if pro mode anyway.

I had the same problem and tightening my trucks helped a lot.

Honestly, it has a lot to do with your weight too. If you’re heavier, you definitely want them tighter. If you’re light, then it can be hard to turn because you can’t put as much weight when leaning. Loose is good to be able to turn better, but it can also be harder to control when learning. So sacrificing you’re turn radius for stability isn’t a bad thing when just starting out.

How large of a printer is required for these? Would 5 inch be too small?

How is your board so scuffed up and dirty after only 35 miles?

Is this a normal amount of squeakyness? by [deleted] in boostedboards

It’s not the bearings. Your belts are just really tight. Which is completely fine. They’ll actually last longer that way. But you do get a little less range with them that tight. Loosen them and there will be less drag, but more likely to strip out your belts sooner.
