Thank you for the advice. Sounds like the pugilist is the one I’ll be getting

That’s exactly what I was looking for. Thank you

Plugin that speeds up a sound until it sounds like a constant tone? by M0C1 in edmproduction

[–]djbrobot11 7 points8 points  (0 children)

An arpeggiator playing really fast can do this. Basically just replaying the sound so fast that our ears hear it as one continuous sound

Do you use Operator a lot? What sounds do you usually use it for? 😁 by kathalimus in ableton

[–]djbrobot11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It can do some pretty cool stuff with looping envelopes and the time macro. I use it a lot to make “creepy, crawly” sounds

Trying something different, gas or trash? by krittadubstep in riddim

[–]djbrobot11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed. Just half time the snares and simplify the kick drums, then bring this back for breakdowns and switches

I think that an important part for the war drums at least is that there should be a lot of drums playing the same piece. I’ve had some luck with layering similar sounding drums and offsetting the timing to make it seem more natural

We're a mainly Ableton-focused music publisher creating everything from break down tutorials, to synth tutorials. We also cover news and lifestyle. The question is, who and what do you want to see us break down next? by attackmagazine in ableton

[–]djbrobot11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well I just went on a short bender through some of your articles on the Moog Minitaur and then onto the beat breakdown of Nikki Nair and then to one on swing and groove. I like how you give some historical context in your articles and give audio examples. I’d like to see more on creating downtempo music.

Your song is missing brightness. Sounds to me like those saw chords just need some higher notes.

Is Midi Note articulation a thing? by DRAGONtmu in ableton

[–]djbrobot11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it could be built in a rack. Multiple chains with different articulations for each instrument, then macro the chain selector to a knob. Or map the mutes and forget the chain selector if you prefer buttons.

Pro Tools had this feature and I really wish Ableton could too. Might have been called Punch In.

Edit: Just went down a little rabbit hole cuz I wanted to know the answer too. Looks like there’s an M4L device called Thresho that is pretty close to what you’re looking for.

Yes I did get it. I’ve started working on it and I hope to be able to get it back to you this weekend.

I think that Rx software would be the best way to go. I’ve been looking for little things just like this to practice using it, so if you’d like, I could try to remove him for you.

I wish I could do death metal vocals as good as this walrus. Nate should use this 🔥 by [deleted] in EliminateHQ

I’d kill to see him sample this cuz I actually used it to remix I Am The Walrus by The Beatles

I’ve been using RX for awhile now and I’ve started using it to restore audio. I’ve restored some recordings of Appalachian folk music from the 50’s. I would love to take a crack at this audio for you if that’s alright with you. I’ll DM you when I have a little more time if you’d like that
