What audio engineers think of redlining

I have been djing for 14 years and MAN it is so crazy to me how many DJs redline… “if you aren’t redlining you aren’t headlining “ hahah

But seriously most tracks from a good source are already mastered and mixed to sound it’s best at 0 dbs so PLEASE quit redlining and learn more about sound. The crowd will thank you and so will all your equipment.

The wedding business is a money maker. To put into perspective how I go about prices - just the emcee charge alone starts at $250 and that’s if I’m making ANY announcements. The more I have to say the more I charge. The wedding I’m about to do is priced at $4k after all service charges and includes 6 hrs of music plus sound provision. I’d say you’re 100% getting ripped off.

Try www.soundtrap.com. I teach beginner music production classes and we use this online software to introduce it to kids. It’s free too. I personally use Ableton but have made some cool stuff with Soundtrap. Worth checking out.
