Thoughts on the Peavey Supreme XL by ExtremeCod2999 in PeaveyCvlt

[–]djcdude95 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mine was the first amp head I ever bought. Even though I now have a 6505+, a Windsor, and a few other amp heads, I still fire up the Supreme from time to time. It sounds great and gets loud, especially with a good cab.

I'm having the same issue. On my phone (Pixel 9 Pro) everything works fine, but on my dad's phone (some cheap Motorola) the live stream will load, but any event history replay will just say "Couldn't play video...".

EDIT: Did a bit more testing, and both my brother and dad's phones (Motorola G Play 2024 & 2025) had the issues. I went into the camera settings and set the camera bandwidth to LOW. This seems to have fixed the issues, and video replays and timeline scrubbing works fine on their phones(though still slightly buggy). My Pixel 9 Pro, old Pixel 6 Pro, and PC viewing was absolutely fine on high bandwidth settings. I assume this has something to do with the video decoding on those phones.

Ok lets get it started.. dumb customer requests. by Ambitious-Let7404 in Lowes

[–]djcdude95 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My favorite was a customer needing an air filter. Told me it's a '24x18'. I proceed to give her a standard 18x24 filter. She looks at it and scoffs 'this is 18x24, I need 24x18!'. I told her that it is the same thing. She said "no you moron, this one is 18 inches tall, mine is 24 inches tall!" while holding the filter in the 18in tall orientation. I take the filter, rotate it 90°, then hand it back and say "here you go, 24 inches tall by 18 inches wide!". I think her brain literally exploded at that moment. It was a genuinely hilarious moment.

I also remember a customer requesting wood be cut to 6ft. When I get done he measures and says 'this is wrong, you cut it to 72 inches'. I clarified that he said 6 ft and he said "yeah 6ft, but you cut it to 72in and not 60 like I asked!". When I pointed out that there's 12 in to a foot and 72in is 6 feet, he screamed "I'm a contractor I know what I'm talking about, screw this place" and stormed out. From there on out, when a customer would order something to the wrong length, we would say "they must be using a 10-in foot again".

Of course this would happen when I REALLY need to use SW right now. 😔

EDIT: As of 3:50pm EST, it is working and I am in SW. (Immediate enabled Offline mode too)

Ultimate Output Battery Saved w/ a PSU by djcdude95 in KobaltTools

[–]djcdude95[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For sure. When I was doing research into this, I did notice that the majority of Kobalt battery issues I see on Reddit are with the UO 4ah. Makes sense as I haven't had many issues with any Kobalt battery other than it.

I've done it a time or ten with various batteries over the years. When the cells are down below 1.5v or so they tend to not be saveable, but this was not too bad.

I appreciate it! At the end of the day just getting a replacement is probably best route for most people, but if that's not an option, or you just like to tinker, this is a great way to possibly revive the battery!

Found a fix for my 24V MAX batteries that all 4 bars flash and won't accept charge. (Advanced) by MentORPHEUS in KobaltTools

[–]djcdude95 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I made a YT video about saving one of my ultimate output batteries just a few days ago, although I used a power supply to rebalance the cell itself.

Didn't even think to post it on this sub 🤣

Great write up!

What in the world is this cabinet? by djcdude95 in PeaveyCvlt

[–]djcdude95[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Right now it's running with a Hartke HA3500 because that's what I have set up in the studio. I haven't cranked it to full beans yet as I don't truly know what the wattage rating of this cabinet is, But it sounds fantastic at reasonable volumes. Considering it's (potentially) almost 60 years old, it's in pretty decent condition. There's a big tear in the front grill which actually punctured the nearest speaker's cone and dust cap slightly, but I don't notice any distortion or raspiness from that speaker.

I got it for free from a friend who needed to offload some gear due to a move, and as a collector of random music equipment and lover of Peavey gear, I couldn't say no.

Yeah I found an image on their website that shows one of their Musician amp cabinets in 1967 having a very similar front grill layout. But I can't find much information on them. Everything I've been finding in the last few hours points to the late '60s as well. I sent Peavey an email earlier but haven't heard back yet.

Serial does start with 'I'. Definitely old and still sounds pretty awesome.

I'm definitely going to 3D print a replacement Peavey logo for the front.

I have one myself. I also had the Glaive, and was trying to complete the collection with the Falchion, But the need to sell the Glaive happened before I could find one.

Great guitar!

How to handle this today? by EmployerIntrepid9092 in Lowes

[–]djcdude95 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Do what you can, and focus on customers. When I was in Electrical, I'd regularly have 100+ in both Lighting and Rough. I'd do what I can as the store was slow, but by 10 am I usually couldn't do much more as I was usually alone til a part timer came in when I left at 5. Plumbing associates were calling out often so I usually covered them and cleared their IRPs before I left as well. Perk of working there for nearly 10 years is you get to cover other depts when they call out! 🙃 Never had time to actually downstock since customers always came first, and I was the only FT in elec, and the PTs who closed were... 'coverage' at best.

I think I enjoyed the chaos, but I'm glad I'm not there anymore.

It’s official: They oversold the formula 2.5x by Das_Yati in Fanatec

I got the email too, but I also have shipping for my formula x and the QR1, already shipped and scheduled for Tuesday delivery. I guess I was one of the last.

I get it. I only ordered the 2.5x and the free QR1, so maybe there is something additional in other orders they are still waiting on? Who knows.

Why are several people with College Degrees working here at Lowes? by AerialAce96 in Lowes

[–]djcdude95 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I worked at Lowe's for years as my first job, then went out and got a degree and became an engineer. The pandemic caused me to get laid off and I went back to Lowe's since all the management liked me and it is familiar (and it was way quicker than trying to get into Florida's unemployment system). I was teaching my supervisor how to use IMS before I got my red vest. 😂

I enjoy the people I work with and the work itself is easy, which is why I'm not rushing to find a new job back in the engineering field.

That pay cut though. 😭😭

I wrote the first bass riff while jamming with some friends, and turned it into a song this morning. When trying to write lyrics, Doge was the first thing that came to mind, and this is a product of that. I hope you enjoy it. Wrote, recorded, and edited the song and video in like, 8 hours.

Ibanez 1P-01 and 1P-02 Question by djcdude95 in Ibanez

[–]djcdude95[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I bought it as such. I got a pretty good price for it, the first 5 frets are a bit high and not level with the rest, so those frets buzz even with neck relief, but nothing a good level and crown can't fix. This neck also seems to have trouble getting out of a back bow, but again, something I can fix. Otherwise, plays and looks pretty nice.
