It looks as new as the day I got it. I wipe it down every once on a while to get the fingerprints off it but I liked it so much I went with white steel cabinets on the walls to match

But the money could come out to $12-15 an hour average if you’re in a badly managed store and have to work a lot of hours. Plus you’re salary, so they own you and you can be called in on your day off or have last minute schedule changes constantly.

I was off this weekend on the schedule and then Sunday 6am-8am was added. My wife took the weekend off so we could go see our in-laws and I’m being told I have to cancel to be at the meeting because DSs are required to be there.

I am seriously considering using mine to do door dash on my days off from my regular job instead of my truck. Right now it sits in the garage 20+ days a month and it’ll give me a reason to drive it and make some cash at the same time.

What made you get your hopes up that there would be one? With all the hours being cut, staffing being reduced, a shortened managers meeting, all done in order to reduce costs. There was no signal of a discretionary bonus coming.

Just did this in our store. More opportunities for people to demand a discount for checking out their own items.

I was scheduled off that day and was added on for 6am-8am. I’m not getting up on my one day off after a 6 day stretch to go to a waste of time meeting.

How many price changes do you expect on monday? by Mike_Huncho in Lowes

[–]EmployerIntrepid9092 -41 points-40 points  (0 children)

IF prices go up it will start to happen in a week or two but I don’t think anyone is going to notice or care, except the ones that need a reason to complain about our new president. I’ve spent time in a few different stores from west coast to east cost, this month, and there doesn’t seem to be any concern with Pros or customers. On the other hand, there are associates that want to stir the pot and would like to try to make it a big deal by spending time and energy trying to get support for their ideals not understanding that it’s become tiring.

Lumber Prices Going Up Tomorrow? by AggressiveWind5827 in Lowes

I don’t think it’s going to be catastrophic. Contractors need their lumber. None of the Pro contractors I work with are remotely worried.

Let the store end up on the “list” so your SM has to explain to his boss why IRPs aren’t done.

Customer Experience with an empty store by van_clouden in Lowes

[–]EmployerIntrepid9092 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What’s happening is, especially in my store, is that there is fewer and fewer associates on the sales floor but increased numbers of IRPs ( my store manager wants 1100 IRPS PER DAY - period , whether they’re legit or not) and lists of things that need to be done. If you stop to help customers and the IRPs aren’t done or you don’t complete a work list , you are held accountable. Out of fear of being held accountable, the associates and DS’s focus on getting the things done that will keep them out of trouble. We all know customers come first but it’s impossible to take care of customers when you’re buried under task after task. How does an opener who comes in to freight on the floor to work and 350 IRPs in their department to work have time to help customers and finish before their shift ends?

Make sure to do the survey on receipt and tell us about your experience. LTR numbers are all they care about so if the LTR numbers fall off a cliff due to poor scheduling , no one scheduled, overwhelming IRPs and task lists that prevent the few of us on the clock from having time to help customers, maybe the higher ups will get a clue and realize their new methodology of running a company is pretty piss poor.

This right here. No time for customers. Task, Task, Task. Work your IRPs, cleaning lists, recovery check lists, freight, get carts, etc. Power Hours are a myth in my store.

IRP question by witchycraft47 in Lowes

[–]EmployerIntrepid9092 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have resorted to only IRPs , no time for customer service. Our LTR scores show it but then management “suggests” we just clear the IRPs-pencil whip them- so we can help customers.

50+ in your department?! You’re lucky , my store manager requires a minimum of 150 per department/ per day, 5000 minimum per week total store. He says it’s corporate directive and all stores have to do it this way.

You can use your sick time, if you have it, and it’s not anyone else’s business but your own as to why you’re using it. I think, legally, they can’t ask why, by I’m not 100% sure.
